Prompt replies to production, logistical and technical support questions.\nProvide design input on all projects as required, within the timescales set by the company.\nSkills/Knowledge (essential):\nStructural analysis, scoping calculations and hand calculations.\nAssembly methods and maintenance.\nInspection, testing and certification requirements.\nCompleting and checking designs and documentation.\nTolerancing, limits and fits.\nTime management with ability to plan work loadings, multi-task and work under pressure.\nAbility to problem solve.\nGood verbal and written communication skills, clear technical writing and good record keeping.\nAttention to detail and effective checking regime.\nSoftware skills; Microsoft Office Suite.\nSoftware skills; 2D and 3D CAD (e.g. AutoCAD/DraftSight and SolidWorks).\nWillingness to learn new engineering skills.\nSafety conscious, attentive to QHSE policies and regulations.\nSound engineering knowledge.\nTechnical drawing competence.\nSkills/Knowledge (desirable):\nEngineering design environment, one year minimum.\nEngineering shop floor experience.\nOffshore experience.\nDesign of ROV systems and associated equipment.\nFinite Element Analysis using Ansys and/or SolidWorks Simulation.\nMechanisms, kinematics and power transmission.\nGood knowledge of manufacturing techniques, anodising, welding, heat treatment, painting, additive, machining, cutting, folding and NDT requirements.\nOil, gas and water hydraulics, including sealing systems, e.g. O-rings, seals, hydraulic fittings etc.\nErgonomics.\nDrawing layout and symbols.\nEducation:\nBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, although candidates with alternative qualifications and relevant industry experience may also be considered.\nAbout FET\nFET (Forum Energy Technologies, Inc.) is a global company, serving the crude oil, natural gas, and renewable energy industries.
