We move fast and need to move faster.\nIf we succeed, science will be the only limit to medicine.\nAll full-time roles are in person in New York.\nAbout the role\nAs Senior Counsel at Forus, you will serve as a key legal partner to stakeholders across the business. You will report directly to the General Counsel and work on legal questions that contribute to the next phases of growth. You will own important commercial matters, contribute to product design, resolve operational challenges, and drive the legal strategy that helps the business move.\nForus is entering a defining stage. If you are low-ego, hungry to learn, and excited about intense, impactful work that drives both company growth and accelerated career progression, we want to hear from you.\nIf you join, you will:\nAdvise stakeholders on legal and compliance matters across healthcare and clinical operations, marketing, privacy, and data governance.\n\nDraft and negotiate commercial agreements and develop related playbooks, templates, and escalation guidance.\n\nDevelop scalable legal guidance, policies, templates, and AI-enabled workflows that enable efficient decision-making.\n\nOwn and maintain Forus’s core platform agreements, including provider Terms of Service, privacy notices, and website terms, in alignment with product, regulatory, and operational requirements.\n\nLead day-to-day privacy and HIPAA counseling, including data mapping, privacy-request workflows, minimum-necessary practices, and partnership with Security on technical controls.\n\nPartner with the compliance team to advance Forus's healthcare compliance program, aligned with applicable OIG guidance, enterprise risk assessments, and Forus's evolving risk profile.\n\nWe're looking for you if you have:\n6+ years of legal experience in commercial contracts and business counseling, J.D., active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.\n\nExperience independently handling complex commercial matters. Healthcare and ideally health-tech experience is strongly preferred; law-firm and in-house experience is ideal.\n\nMeaningful experience with privacy and healthcare regulatory matters, including HIPAA/HITECH, data use and sharing, business associate agreements, and privacy requests or incidents.\n\nOutstanding written and verbal communication that enables you to translate complex legal concepts into strategic and actionable guidance.\n\nTrack record of moving quickly, finding shortcuts, and going to unreasonable lengths to deliver on goals.\n\nHigh NPS with your former teammates.\n\nThis is a list of ideal qualifications for this position.
