You'll get a platform you can genuinely shape, a business that listens and a mix of BAU, integration work and new feature builds.\nThe Details\nKeep the live Magento 2 store stable, secure and performant day to day\nTriage and fix production issues, bugs and checkout or order flow problems\nApply security patches and manage extension updates and compatibility\nReview the current version, PHP stack and hosting, and set out an upgrade path where needed\nMonitor performance across caching, indexing, Varnish, Redis and search\nDesign and build integrations between Magento and third party systems such as ERP, PIM, OMS, payments, shipping and marketing platforms\nWork with REST and GraphQL APIs, webhooks, message queues and scheduled import or export jobs\nMake integrations resilient with clear logging, error handling and monitoring\nTechnical lead for the digital agency\nAct as the client's technical point of contact for their digital agency\nGive technical direction on architecture, approach and priorities\nReview agency estimates, specifications and pull requests and challenge where needed\nTranslate business requirements into clear technical briefs\nOwn release coordination and environments so nothing lands in production untested\nEssential\n5+ years commercial Magento 2 (Open Source or Adobe Commerce) development, ideally as a contractor\nStrong PHP 8.x and deep knowledge of Magento architecture: modules, plugins, observers, dependency injection, EAV and service contracts\nProven integration delivery using Magento REST and GraphQL APIs with third party platforms\nExperience owning a live production store, including patching, upgrades and incident handling\nMySQL, Composer, Git and CI/CD pipelines\nConfidence working with and directing external agencies, including reviewing their code and estimates\nClear communicator who can explain technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders\nNice to have\nMagento 2 version upgrades, particularly moving to 2.4.8 or 2.4.9\nAdobe Commerce Cloud, AWS or Hyvä theme experience\nPerformance tuning with Varnish, Redis, OpenSearch and New Relic\nAdobe Commerce certification\nERP or PIM integration experience (for example Sage, NetSuite, Dynamics or Akeneo)\n On site: 2 days a week in South Manchester for agency sessions, stakeholder time and planning.
