Learning Lab supports innovation in higher education pedagogy through intersegmental grants to California’s public colleges and universities. Funded projects leverage technology tools and the science of human learning to create better online and hybrid learning environments and empower faculty in their teaching mission to find solutions that work best for California’s diverse student population.\nWhat You’ll Do\nThe Student Intern is a part-time, paid position that will support a dynamic team to help develop education-focused communications, such as promotional materials and social media content, that is mission- and brand-aligned, and to handle general administrative tasks. Depending on the interests and skills of the successful candidate, this position may provide opportunities for unique writing, media research, website, and/or AI/technology-related projects.\nThis is an excellent opportunity for a student who is looking for hands-on experience working in a professional environment, with exposure to communications and education-related projects within a publicly-funded grantmaking program.\nSupport creation of education-related promotional materials consistent with the Learning Lab brand; \nReview and suggest edits for education-focused audio and/or audiovisual media and transcripts;\nDraft and design external communications using tools such as Canva;\nSupport expansion of website functionality and routine maintenance working closely with the Communications Specialist;\nHelp to maintain grant project webpages, resources in the grantee portal, and content in CARLE, Learning Lab’s repository for open educational resources;\nSupport full spectrum of RFP process that may include reviewing/editing collateral, tracking applications, correspondence, and FAQ using Excel, Google Sheets, and/or other Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications.\nAttributes for Success\nMust have completed at least two years of college.\nMust be currently enrolled as a student of post-secondary education with a minimum of six (6) semester units or nine (9) quarter units and must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.\nBackground or interest in communications, marketing, media, and/or journalism a plus.\nFamiliarity or interest in educational equity and pedagogy (preferred).\nAbility to take projects from inception to completion and work independently and as part of a team;\nExcellent writing and copyediting skills with evidence of success and experience;\nExperience in creating public messaging, audience engagement, or digital marketing research and campaigns or other related mass communications or journalistic efforts and activities (preferred), and\nExperience using graphic design software such as Canva and/or InDesign (preferred).\nStrong aesthetic sense and understanding of basic design principles;\nWe’re recruiting for mission-driven, passionate, equity-minded individuals with a strong desire to impact and change people’s lives for the better\nOur work holds great weight and responsibility, and the opportunity to impact the lives of millions\nInnovation, creativity, collaboration, and entrepreneurship are encouraged as employees work to achieve organizational goals\nFoundationCCC blends the impact of a non-profit, the culture of an entrepreneurial start-up, and the scale of a state agency\nTeam members are hired for theirexpertise in niche areas across our areas of impact and higher education overall, and for their knowledge of business, philanthropy, technology, communications, and more\nWe have a commitment to professional development and an emphasis on shared leadership, to ensure growth for employees and the organization overall\nWhat we Offer\nFoundationCCC is fully committed to a “remote-first” philosophy, and recruits and hires talent across the state in fully remote positions, where virtual work is possible.
