Four Hands is where passion meets purpose and where your next chapter begins.\nThe Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for designing scalable automated testing solutions, developing quality strategies, and partnering with Product, Engineering, and DevOps teams to ensure reliable, high quality software delivery. You will serve as a technical leader within the Quality Engineering organization, helping establish best practices, mentor team members, and continuously improve our testing capabilities. This role requires deep expertise in modern test automation, API and integration testing, CI/CD practices, and quality engineering principles. The ideal candidate is passionate about building quality into every stage of the software development lifecycle and thrives in complex, integrated enterprise environments. \nThis role is accountable for overall product quality and is expected to leverage both automated and manual testing techniques. Responsibilities include developing automated test coverage while also performing exploratory, integration, end-to-end, and risk-based manual testing to uncover issues that may not be effectively detected through automation alone. The ideal candidate understands that automation is a means to improve quality, not a replacement for thoughtful testing and quality engineering practices, and can effectively balance manual and automated approaches to deliver comprehensive quality coverage. \nIn This Role \nQuality Strategy & Leadership \nDefine and execute quality strategies for applications, products, and business initiatives\nIdentify quality risks early and develop mitigation strategies\nPartner with Product Managers, Developers, Architects, and DevOps teams to ensure quality is considered throughout the development lifecycle\nDrive adoption of modern quality engineering practices across teams\nMentor and coach Quality Engineers on automation, testing best practices, and engineering excellence\nTest Automation \nDesign, develop, and maintain scalable automated testing frameworks\nDevelop automated functional, regression, end-to-end, integration, and API test suites\nImprove automation coverage and reduce manual testing effort\nEstablish automation standards, patterns, and reusable testing components\nLead automation framework enhancements focused on maintainability, reliability, and scalability. \nCI/CD & DevOps Integration \nIntegrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and rapid feedback\nCollaborate with DevOps teams to maintain testing environments and infrastructure\nSupport test execution strategies for build validation, regression testing, and release readiness\nImprove deployment confidence through automated quality gates\nAPI, Integration & Enterprise Testing \nDevelop and execute API, contract, and integration testing strategies\nValidate complex workflows spanning multiple applications and platforms\nEnsure data integrity across distributed systems and enterprise integrations\nDesign testing approaches for highly integrated business processes \nQuality Improvement \nAnalyze defects, identify root causes, and recommend preventative solutions\nEvaluate testing tools and technologies to improve engineering efficiency\nDefine and monitor quality metrics and reporting\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, reliability, and delivery speed\nOther Duties\nOther duties as assigned, in accordance with training and qualifications \nUphold the Core Values and be a valuable member of the Four Hands Team Be open and honest \nReach for excellence \nAct with responsibility \nValue the whole person \nEnjoy the journey \n\nThe Ideal Person \n5+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, Test Automation, Software Development Engineering in Test (SDET), or a related role\n4+ years of hands-on experience developing automated tests using Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar automation frameworks\nStrong experience with API testing and automation using tools such as Postman, REST Assured, Playwright API Testing, or equivalent solutions\nExperience designing and maintaining scalable automation frameworks\nExperience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar platforms\nStrong understanding of testing strategies, test architecture, and software quality principles\nExperience validating complex integrations and distributed systems\nProficiency with Git and modern development workflows\nExperience working with Agile development methodologies\nStrong troubleshooting, debugging, and root cause analysis skills\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\nAbout Four Hands\nHeadquartered in Austin, Texas, since 1996, Four Hands crafts furniture, art and décor - pieces that are all about creating space.
