Responsible for maintaining close, continuous surveillance of all gaming areas and the entire property, in order to protect life and property at the casino.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:\nMaintains a log of all radio and telephone calls into and out of the Security Dispatch Center. Notifies the proper authority depending on the nature and issues of the various incoming and outgoing radio and telephone calls. \nAssigns Security Officers as needed to detail and requests for personnel from other departments as well as responding outside agencies as needed.\nReceives all incoming calls from guests pertaining to Security matters, guest service issues pertaining to the Security Department and Gaming Commission concerning Security operations. Provides departmental information and conveys telephone messages accurately and in a timely manner. \nMaintains knowledge of all department Policies and Procedures, the Emergency Action Plan, Crisis Communication Plan, as well as standard operating procedures of Local Law Enforcement and Emergency Medical Services as applies to the Casino and its attendant properties. \nNotifies Shift Manager/ Assistant Shift Manager/Floor Supervisor of any pertinent conditions as needed and as directed. \nPromotes positive guest and employee relations through prompt, courteous and efficient service. \nMust be knowledgeable of the emergency power system, emergency radio system, and other assorted emergency equipment used by the Security and Facility Departments additionally must know how to respond to the notifications of each of these systems and know who and when to contact the correct responder to each.\nMonitors all assigned areas of the property at all times, identifying potential security and/or safety risks and reporting them to the appropriate individual or entity, for proper resolution.\nUtilizes necessary equipment, to identify, record, document and report illegal, suspicious or unusual activities occurring on property.\nMaintains a working knowledge of all rules and regulations of the Gaming Commission and ensures strict adherence to same throughout the property.\nSupports other employees, supervisors and management, with regard to protection of assets in their respective departments.\nCoordinates, with the Surveillance Department, when Security discovers a matter which needs further investigation or attention.\nFacilitates the flow of information throughout the department, by attending regularly scheduled departmental meetings.\nHeld accountable for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports.\nMakes suggestions and recommendations, as appropriate, with regard to possible changes in the policies and procedures of other departments, with safety and security and protection of casino assets in mind.\nPromotes the following within the department and among all employees:\nCreates an atmosphere of fun for all casino guests.\nEncourages mutual respect, dignity and integrity with all employees, by setting positive examples at all times.\nThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:\nHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.\nSPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:\nThis position requires a Level 2 Gaming License.\nComputer literate in Microsoft Excel, Access and Word, Outlook or related software as well as TurboVUi Dispatch and Advantage monitor software packages. Strong communication and typing skills required. Ability to multi-task is critical as operations will include simultaneous use of surveillance, computer, radio, and emergency equipment in a responsible manner. Must be able to work alone with little or no direct supervisor and be able to delegate tasks to other Security Officers within the property. Must be able to keep personal and sensitive material or information confidential. Knowledge of and experience with closed circuit television equipment preferred. Must possess excellent observational and communication skills.\nLANGUAGE SKILLS:\nAbility to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Some analytical ability is required in order to summarize data for reports and find solutions to various administrative problems. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.\nMATHEMATICAL SKILLS:\nAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent, and to interpret data from graphs.\nREASONING ABILITY:\nAbility to apply common sense reasoning to a variety of situations must be able to prioritize numerous simultaneous tasks and requests.\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS:\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
