We look forward to hearing from you!\nPosition Summary:\nThe Engineering Technician III (Maintenance) is an advanced technical expert responsible for driving equipment reliability, precision, and performance within the Fox Gainesville Machine Shop. This role owns complex troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and maintenance strategies across CNC machining and supporting systems.\nActing as a critical link between Engineering, Manufacturing, and Maintenance, this position leads equipment-related problem solving, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)\nPosition Responsibilities:\nOwn and execute preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for CNC lathes, mills, saw cutters, laser engraving systems, and all supporting equipment (hydraulic, pneumatic, coolant, vacuum).\n\nLead advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control system failures.\n\nDiagnose and repair complex components including servo systems, spindles, drive motors, encoders, ball screws, and CNC/laser control systems.\n\nCollaborate with Engineering on equipment upgrades, retrofits, and process improvements.\n\nDevelop and improve PM standards, checklists, and maintenance procedures.\n\nEnsure high CMMS data integrity (Maintenance Connection), including accurate documentation, failure tracking, and trend analysis.\n\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives focused on uptime, reliability, and cost reduction.\n\nProvide technical leadership and mentorship to maintenance technicians; set standards for troubleshooting and repair practices.\n\nSupport equipment installations, layout changes, and commissioning activities.\n\nEnsure strict adherence to all safety standards, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and PPE.\n\nSpecific Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required:\nExpert-level knowledge of CNC machine tools (DMG MORI, Mazak, Okuma, Haas, etc.), laser systems, and machining support equipment.\n\nStrong expertise in PLC systems, servo drives, motion control, and CNC control architectures.\n\nAdvanced ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics\n\nStrong working knowledge of CMMS systems and data-driven maintenance practices.\n\nKnowledge of laser safety, optics handling, and high-voltage systems.\n\nProven ability to lead technical problem-solving and influence cross-functional teams.\n\nExcellent communication, documentation, and leadership skills.\n\nComputer competency using Microsoft Office.\n\nTravel is required.\n\nPosition Qualifications:\nEducation:\nHS graduate or equivalent\nAA degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience\nExperience:\n3+ years of CNC maintenance experience.\nWork Environment and Physical Requirements:\nManufacturing Environment\nLift up to 50 lbs. regularly\nRequires walking, standing, bending and lifting for long periods of time\nVision abilities required to validate and enter data on computer\nTravel required 1 week/quarter\nNote:\nFOX provides equal employment opportunities for all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, ancestry, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, marital status, religion, age, physical disability (including HIV and AIDS), mental disability, results of genetic testing, or service in the military, or any other characteristic protected by the laws or regulations of any jurisdiction in which we operate.
