We look forward to hearing from you!\nDesign 2 Engineer\nPosition Summary:\nDesigns, develop drawings, creates DFMEA’s, performs engineering calculations and FEA for the release of new components and assemblies. Interfaces with cross-functional teams, directly interacting with suppliers to reduce cost and/or optimize the design for manufacture, documents all engineering calculations, and meets program timing for the release of the new designs. Responsible for packaging of new assemblies and development of new products.\nPosition Responsibilities:\nPerforms design and development work for 3-5 OEM Automotive projects concurrently, including complex technology developments and difficult supplier interactions.\nRuns design projects with limited oversight from management.\nRuns packaging studies to optimize the design to fit into the customer available envelope.\nCreates and maintains 3d models, 2d drawings, BOM’s and ECN documentation.\nCreates component and assembly DFMEA’s and updates as the design progresses.\nPerforms FEA and hand calculations required by the DFMEA.\nSupports and oversees initial plant builds to evaluate if there are any design issues for production readiness and component accuracy.\nWorks closely with Commercial team to establish costing and support RFQ responses.\nConducts design and testing, including field testing and operation of vehicles.\nTracks progress on his/her tasks to meet the project targets\nSpecific Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required:\nEngineering design knowledge\nCreo/3D modeling or similar CAD design software\nTime management and prioritization abilities\nDFMEA - E1NS or similar\nGD&T\nMicrosoft Office\nAbility to travel\nCompetencies:\nCustomer Mindset: Exceptional customer experience is primary focus while performing job duties.
