We look forward to hearing from you!\nPosition Summary:\nDesigns, develops, tests, and evaluates automotive suspension products, applying engineering principles in accordance with company and customer requirements.\nPosition Responsibilities:\nTakes ownership of assigned projects, from concept / prototyping through to manufacturing release / product launch.\n\nAnalyzes project proposals, requirements, and related technical data to determine feasibility of new designs and to develop specific design goals and specifications.\n\nAnalyzes manufacturing equipment and process specifications to ensure that designs can be produced using existing resources and methods where applicable.\n\nUses computer-assisted engineering software and equipment.\n\nPlans and develops experimental test programs and equipment.\n\nAnalyzes test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.\n\nWorks to prevent or eliminate defects in new or existing products.\n\nCreates and maintains project / product related documentation.\n\nWorks with external suppliers in development of new components or processes where required.\n\nResponds to any issues encountered throughout the entire product cycle - analyzing problems and engineering / implementing solutions that meet company / customer requirements.\n\nMaintains 3D models and manufacturing drawing database for any assigned products.\n\nUpdates and maintains 3D models and manufacturing drawings for existing product when required.\n\nParticipates in continuous improvement efforts involving existing products, utilizing problem solving abilities and innovation.\n\nCoordinates execution / implementation of design revisions in accordance with company requirements.\n\nOperates within a team environment, providing input and design support to other team members as well as participating in design reviews across the department.\n\nProvides design / detailing support to other team members as needed.\n\nStudies engineering and technical publications to keep abreast of technological changes and developments in industry.\n\nSpecific Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities Required:\nGeneral engineering design knowledge\n\nGood understanding of print reading / tolerancing for manufacturing\n\nStrong experience in Solidworks or a similar 3D CAD platform\n\nStrong time management and prioritization abilities\n\nData gathering and analysis skills\n\nGood skillset with Microsoft Office\n\nStrong problem solving skills\n\nHighly organized, self-motivated, detail oriented.\n\nPosition Qualifications:\nEducation:\nBachelor’s degree in design engineering, mechanical engineering or related area\nExperience:\n1+ years of experience in the product design field utilizing engineering design tools.\nGeneral automotive knowledge preferred.\nWork Environment and Physical Requirements:\nPrimarily Office Environment, some hands-on work in a climate-controlled shop.\nAbility to sit for long periods of time.\nVision abilities required to validate and enter data on a computer.\nPotential for occasional travel.\nDisclaimer: This list does not represent all physical demands.
