This is an opportunity for anyone who wants to experience this journey with us.\nAbout the role:\nThe QA Engineer is an experienced individual contributor responsible for independently ensuring the quality, reliability, and usability of the Firm’s custom, enterprise-scale software solutions. This role partners closely with delivery teams to plan, execute, and evolve testing approaches across features and applications, with an increased emphasis on automation, risk assessment, and quality advocacy. The position represents a fully independent QA professional who exercises sound judgment, influences delivery outcomes, and supports the development of less experienced QA team members.\nTechnical Environment & Delivery Context:\nQuality Assurance team members operate within cross-functional delivery teams, often aligned to DevOps-based practices, supporting custom, enterprise-scale applications used across the Firm. These solutions primarily consist of modern, web-based platforms built on Microsoft technologies, along with integrated systems that require thorough functional, integration, performance, and regression testing.\nThe QA function emphasizes a balanced approach to manual and automated testing, with a strong focus on shifting left to build quality into the delivery lifecycle. Team members collaborate closely with Product Owners, Software Engineers, DevOps Engineers, Database experts, and other stakeholders throughout the secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC). Project management and documentation tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Smartsheet, Confluence, and SharePoint are leveraged to support planning, execution, and communication.\nAutomated testing is a core component of the Firm’s software quality strategy. QA team members leverage automated testing tools such as Playwright, Rapise, and Opkey, along with test management tools such as Spira, to design, execute, and maintain reliable test suites. Testing activities are integrated into delivery practices and, where applicable, CI/CD pipelines to support timely and predictable releases.\nThe blameless culture we are striving for values continuous improvement, pragmatic risk-based testing, clear communication of quality insights, and ongoing development of both technical and domain expertise.\nResponsibilities:\nTeam Contribution & Collaboration\nServe as an active and influential member of cross-functional delivery teams, participating in planning, refinement, standups, reviews, retrospectives, and release activities.\nPartner with Software Engineers, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to clarify requirements, acceptance criteria, and quality expectations.\nCommunicate testing progress, risks, and quality insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.\nQuality Assurance & Testing\nPlan and execute end-to-end testing for assigned features, components, or applications.\nDesign, maintain, and evolve manual and automated test cases and test suites aligned with delivery priorities.\nIndependently execute and analyze automated test results, identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement.\nPerform functional, integration, regression, and exploratory testing to assess quality and risk.\nIdentify, document, prioritize, and communicate defects and quality concerns using established defect-tracking tools.\nContribute to test strategy discussions and provide recommendations to improve test coverage and efficiency.\nAutomation & Tooling\nActively contribute to the development and maintenance of automated test suites using Firm-standard tools.\nCollaborate with other QA team members and Software Engineers to improve automation reliability and maintainability.\nApply automation best practices and promote consistent testing approaches across delivery teams.\nMentorship & Continuous Improvement\nProvide guidance and informal mentorship to team members.\nShare knowledge, testing techniques, and lessons learned with the broader QA community.\nParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives related to QA practices, tools, and standards.\nRequirements:\nSecure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC) and Software Testing Lifecycle (STLC)\nAgile delivery methodologies and DevOps-aligned practices\nTest planning, execution, and defect management concepts\nQuality engineering principles and risk-based testing approaches\nBonus Skills:\nAbility to independently plan and execute testing activities across complex features or applications\nAbility to leverage automated testing tools such as Playwright, Rapise, Opkey, or similar frameworks\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail\nAbility to clearly document and communicate test results, defects, and quality risks\nStrong collaboration and interpersonal skills\nAbility to mentor and support the development of less experienced QA team members\nCTFL, CSQA, CSQE or similar certification or demonstrated ability to target testing through techniques such as boundary, equivalence, state transition\nWhy work with us\nWhen you work with Foxsense Innovations, you donʼt just work a boring job.
