To this end, in partnership with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), FPHNYC incubates innovative public health initiatives implemented by DOHMH to advance community health throughout the city. It facilitates partnerships, often new and unconventional, between government and the private sector to develop, test, and launch new initiatives. These collaborations speed the execution of demonstration projects, effect expansion of successful pilot programs, and support rapid implementation to meet the public health needs of individuals, families, and communities across New York City.\n Our Culture \nWe embrace a culture of learning, collaboration, innovation, and well-being, where open communication drives our impact.\nAbout The Role \nThe Bureau of Maternal, Infant and Reproductive Health is seeking a Gender Affirming Care Hub Data Analyst to work under the direction of the Deputy Director of the Abortion Access Hub to develop the needed tools to inform the evaluation and analysis of the Navigation Hub activities, ensuring that strategic goals translate into clear, measurable outcomes. This role will manage and analyze datasets and report findings to internal and external audiences. The GAC Hub Data Analyst is part of the team primarily responsible for citywide efforts to promote and protect access to gender affirming care. \nAbout the Program \nGender-affirming care (GAC) is recognized by major U.S. medical associations as medically necessary for many transgender and gender-diverse people. In addition, many transgender and gender non-conforming/non-binary (TGNCNB) individuals also need legal or practical assistance in updating their identification documents, combatting jobs or housing discrimination, or even accessing education or bathrooms. Research shows GAC is associated with reduced depression and suicidal ideation, and better long-term mental health outcomes. Denial of care or legal recognition of one’s identity increases risk of mental health crisis and unsafe self-treatment. Yet access has become increasingly difficult due to state-level restrictions, insurance barriers, and shifting federal guidance. \nThe combination of federal and state legal pressures, coupled with social stigma, creates tangible and psychological barriers to care and civil equality. Policymakers, especially at the local level, have a critical role in safeguarding these essential services and protecting the rights of transgender and gender-diverse people. \nNew York has been an innovator and leader in sexual and reproductive health. Both our city and state government officials have been proactive in creating protections for not only abortion but also gender affirming communities and health care. The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (NYC DOHMH) has long followed the tenets of the Sexual and Reproductive Justice Framework which states that all people should have the power and resources to make healthy decisions about their bodies, including sexuality and reproduction. \nAs part of these efforts, the Health Department will develop and implement a navigation Hub to connect callers and chatters to information, services and gender-affirming care in New York City. \n\nResponsibilities \nThe GAC Hub Data Analyst will: \nCollect and analyze data from calls and chats, develop dashboards and prepare reports on performance on Navigation Services Hub activities.\nWork with Hub Deputy Director to regularly review programmatic data. \nEvaluate the call center activities and recommend improvements. \nSynthesize findings in preparation of reporting to key stakeholders and leadership. \nAssist with the preparation of presentations and other written materials for internal and external audiences. \nPresenting findings to internal and external audiences. \nContribute to reports, scientific papers and dissemination of GAC Access Initiatives.\nRequirements\nA doctorate degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in the appropriate field and one year of research experience in monitoring and evaluation activities related to the duties described above; OR a master's degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in the appropriate field and three years of research experience in monitoring and evaluation activities related to the duties described above. \nCommitment to sexual and reproductive rights and gender justice required. \nUnderstands the experiences, issues and needs of the TGNCNB community. \nExcellent computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). \nStrong skills in database management, knowledge of Power BI and Salesforce reporting\nStrong research, written and interpersonal communication skills. \nDetail oriented and able to work both independently and collaboratively. \nTGNCB people are encouraged to apply. \nEmployment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check\nBenefits/ Additional Information:\nPublic Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) eligible employer\nGenerous Paid Time Off (PTO) policy\nMedical, dental, and life insurance with low or no employee contribution\nA retirement savings plan with generous employer contribution\nFlexible spending medical and commuter benefits plan\nMeaningful work at an organization striving to advance health equity and social justice\nEqual Employment Opportunity Statement\nFPHNY is an equal opportunity employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind.
