Fractal has been featured as a Great Place to Work by The Economic Times in partnership with the Great Place to Work® Institute and recognized as a ‘Cool Vendor’ and a ‘Vendor to Watch’ by Gartner.\nJob Title: Senior Data Scientist\nRole Overview\nThis is a hands-on, delivery-focused Senior Data Scientist role leading the design and development of advanced Agentic conversational AI solutions in the banking domain, with a primary focus on Connect AI Agents, Agentic Prompts, and intent/slot tuning built on Amazon Connect and Amazon Lex.\nThe role requires deep engagement with experimentation, data analysis, and NLU asset tuning to continuously improve conversational quality and intent/slot performance within established IVR solutions.\nThis is an execution-heavy position suited for someone who can ramp up quickly, contribute immediately, and operate with minimal oversight within an established delivery model.\nSuccess in this role depends on strong analytical rigor, close collaboration with the onshore lead, and the ability to translate technical findings into clear recommendations for leadership and project stakeholders.\nKey Responsibilities\nSupport end-to-end delivery of Agentic conversational AI capabilities for IVR solutions built on Amazon Connect and Amazon Lex\nRun and interpret experiments related to intent recognition, slot-filling performance, utterance handling, and overall conversational quality\nPerform hands-on analysis of interaction data, model outputs, and test results to identify issues and improvement opportunities\nTune intent descriptions, training data, prompts, and related NLU assets to improve performance\nWork closely with the onshore lead to refine slot-filling approach, conversation behavior, and delivery priorities\nContribute to evaluation and implementation of LLM- and GenAI-related capabilities for NLU and intent understanding\nPrepare clear summaries of findings, recommendations, and performance results for leadership and project stakeholders\nHelp drive execution against delivery timelines by identifying risks, resolving issues, and maintaining strong analytical rigor.\nRequired Qualifications\n5+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, NLP, or a related field\n2+ years of building GenAI solutions\nStrong hands-on experience with analytics, experimentation, model evaluation, and performance tuning\nExperience working on conversational AI, NLU, chatbot, virtual assistant, or IVR use cases\nStrong familiarity with Amazon Connect and Amazon Lex, or highly comparable experience with similar conversational AI platforms\nExposure to LLM, GenAI, or modern NLP techniques relevant to intent understanding and conversational AI\nAbility to ramp up quickly and contribute immediate value in a delivery-oriented environment\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present work clearly to leadership and partner teams.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience tuning intent classification, slot-filling, fallback handling, or dialogue behavior in production environments\nStrong Python and data analysis skills for experimentation, reporting, and model evaluation\nExperience supporting prompt-based evaluation or LLM-assisted NLU workflows\nExperience working in cross-functional delivery teams with onshore/offshore collaboration models.\nPay:\nThe wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Fractal, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is: $110,000 - $140,000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus for the current performance period.\nBenefits: As a full-time employee of the company or as an hourly employee working more than 30 hours per week, you will be eligible to participate in the health, dental, vision, life insurance, and disability plans in accordance with the plan documents, which may be amended from time to time.
