With us, anticipate engaging and challenging projects that deliver innovative solutions and value-added technologies helping power more than 38 million North American homes.\nWhat You’ll Do Day-To-Day\nAs part of the Fuel Design Engineering organization, an Engineer III on the Mechanical Analysis team performs broad, complex engineering assignments focused on static and dynamic analysis of fuel assemblies. The primary responsibility is to ensure fuel assemblies maintain coolable geometries and rod insertability during both normal and abnormal operating conditions, supporting the integrity of plant operations. This includes conducting analyses such as seismic, LOCA (Loss of Coolant Accident), buckling, component stresses, assembly bow, and flow-induced vibration (FIV) to verify that any design changes or modifications to operating parameters remain within the plant’s established operating basis. The role requires originality, ingenuity, and the application of advanced technical methods to support planning, design, and evaluation activities, with minimal direction from higher-level engineering staff.\nIn carrying out these responsibilities, the Engineer III is expected to:\nPerforms non-standard engineering, varied engineering, and new-to-you assignments typically in areas of design, development, analysis, evaluation, testing, preparation of specifications, execution of field tasks and resolution of field problems and resolution of quality events. \nReceives minimal assistance and instruction and works autonomously on most assignments and solutions. \nEnsures compliance with government regulations, organization, industry and customer engineering standards. \nIndependently evaluates, selects and applies a variety of technical techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgement in making adaptations and modifications for tasks not previously performed. \nContinues to develop knowledge of organization, processes and customers. \nWorks on special projects, as directed. \nProvides suggestions for improving processes and implementing process improvements. \nMaintain a safety mindset.\nWhat You'll Bring\nBachelor’s Degree in EngineeringDependent on the position, degrees in Physics, Engineering Technology and Engineering Science may also be accepted. \n\nMinimum of 3 years of related experience.\nKnowledge of related engineering standards, techniques and criteria. \nGood communication skills to comprehend and convey detailed technical data. \nAbility to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships; work collaboratively within a team environment. \nGood problem identification and problem resolution skills. \nDisplays informal leadership characteristics. \nExhibits questioning attitude and practices self-checking. \nAdvanced proficiency with specialized software tools and programming languages as required by the role.\nTotal Rewards Package\nTotal Rewards Package\nSalary: $100,000 - $110,000, and may also include annual incentives and performance bonuses. The base salary range is a guideline.
