The Plant Engineering group ensures safe, compliant, and reliable operation of plant infrastructure and process equipment. As a Project Manager, you provide structure, coordination, and execution discipline for engineering projects that maintain or improve plant performance.\nWhat You’ll Do Day-To-Day\nRole Overview You will plan, coordinate, and deliver maintenance projects, equipment upgrades, process improvements, and special production orders. Projects range from small tasks to multimillion dollar initiatives, all requiring strict nuclear safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. You will work closely with engineering, operations, nuclear safety, QA, maintenance, and contractors to ensure smooth execution within a continuous operation manufacturing environment.\nKey Responsibilities\nFeasibility & Intake\nDocument technical needs for equipment upgrades, plant improvements, or special production campaigns.\nAssess feasibility based on nuclear process constraints, plant capabilities, and regulatory boundaries.\nIdentify impacts to production, critical equipment, and controlled areas.\nSupport preliminary risk assessments (nuclear safety, radiological protection, criticality safety, industrial hazards).\nDevelop concepts and execution scenarios to support go/no go decisions.Proposal Development\nCreate scopes, cost estimates, and schedules aligned with nuclear work planning requirements.\nPrepare proposals for special production orders with unique customer specs and QA requirements.\nCoordinate with engineering, QA, nuclear safety, and operations to define technical approaches and resource needs.\nIdentify outage windows or production slowdowns needed for intrusive work.\nProject Planning & Initiation\nDevelop detailed project plans integrating nuclear safety controls and configuration management.\nLead planning reviews, hazard analyses, and readiness verifications.\nCoordinate procurement and stakeholder communications.\nProject Execution\nOversee daily project activities in compliance with plant procedures and safety bases.\nCoordinate craft labor, engineering support, and contractors in controlled or radiological areas.\nTrack schedule and budget, escalate variances, and propose mitigations.\nAlign work with production priorities and limited operating windows.\nMaintain configuration management and support testing, commissioning, and turnover to operations.\nCloseout\nEnsure completion and archiving of QA documentation and inspection records.\nValidate updates to procedures, drawings, hazard analyses, and preventive maintenance plans.\nConduct lessons learned reviews and support financial closeout.\nKey Competencies\nExperience in regulated industrial or nuclear environments.\nAbility to coordinate work in 24/7 operations.\nUnderstanding of nuclear safety fundamentals.\nStrong project management skills (scope, schedule, budget, risk, change control).\nAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously.\nEffective communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience in nuclear fuel manufacturing or regulated nuclear facilities.\nFamiliarity with NQA-1, configuration management, and nuclear regulatory frameworks.\nExperience with work planning, corrective action programs, and hazard analysis tools.\nProficiency with project management software, CMMS, and document control systems.\nProgress toward CAPM or PMP certification.\nWhat You'll Bring\nBachelor's Degree in related field\nMinimum of 4 years related experience is or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.\nBusiness and/or technical expertise in a related technical or professional capacity. \nGood communication skills to work effectively with all levels of staff and management, vendors and customers. \nGood problem identification and problem resolution skills with emphasis on 'root cause' analysis. \nExcellent report development and presentation skills.\nTotal Rewards Package\nTotal Rewards Package\nSalary: $94,000 - $127,000 and may also include annual incentives and performance bonuses. The base salary range is a guideline.
