Working closely with the project’s Visual Effects Supervisor / Creative Director, CG Supervisor and Producer the Compositing Supervisor communicates, supervises and delegates the compositing needs of the project(s) to the compositing team.\nThe Compositing Supervisor leads by example and maintains a hands-on compositing role, but also takes on project specific duties including monitoring shot and overall project progress. The overall aim for the Compositing Supervisor is to build and lead a team that is motivated and enthusiastic, where there are opportunities for each compositor to learn, grow and produce great work.\nKey to this role is an interest in working on a broad range and variety of projects, each with different challenges but all sharing the aim of producing the quality of work that Framestore is well known for.\nThis role would be working on a hybrid work model with some days in office and some days remote, ideal candidates will be based within a commutable distance to our London office.\nKey Responsibilities:\nLead and mentor a team of compositors on a broad range of specific projects\n\nBrief/mentor junior/mid/senior level talent and cast shots appropriately\n\nTake responsibility for the quality of the work of the team as a whole\n\nHands on compositing shots and sequences to a finished standard\n\nWork proactively and collaboratively with all other VFX and support departments\n\nWork closely with the production team to bid and schedule work\n\nAttend client reviews and lead daily reviews with the compositing team\n\nOn set VFX supervision for (but not limited to) 2D based projects\n\nBalance the creative and technical aspects of each shot/sequence\n\nSolve any difficult technical and artistic compositing challenges\n\nColour pipeline management and 2D workflow as it integrates with DI, CG and DMP\n\nRequirements\nCritical eye for detail and a beautiful compositing showreel\n\nDeep understanding of film VFX processes and pipeline\n\n8+ years experience in compositing across a wide variety of content including film, advertising and episodic.\n\nExpert user of Nuke plus other compositing software\n\nAble to work well under pressure\n\nProven artist management and leadership skills\n\nExperience recruiting and building up a 2D team\n\nHighly organised\n\nSolid negotiation skills\n\nProven ability to work collaboratively with other departments\n\nLighting photography core skills\n\nOn set VFX supervision experience is a plus\n\nAccessibility Statement\nOur London studio is fully accessible, with step-free entry, accessible toilets on all floors, and quiet spaces available.
