Driven by creativity and inspired by the future, we set out every day to reframe the possible\nAbout the role\nThis is an existing role within our team and we are potentially looking for multiple artists across mid and senior levels from May 2025.\nThe layout artist is responsible for CG camera animation using cinematography principles, shot composition and character blocking to pre-visualise shots before the beginning of animation and allowing up stream CG departments to use as the foundation for shot construction.\nWhat you’ll do\nCamera/assets staging/blocking\n\nOverseeing Previs and Postvis ingestion\n\nSetup and maintenance of Conforms\n\nShot content maintenance for animation\n\nRequirements\nStrong Maya knowledge with excellent problem solving skills and a solid understanding of the visual effects pipeline. Houdini knowledge also an advantage.\n\nGood attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues in order to maintain continuity within the sequence with strong demonstrable experience in sequence and shot composition.\n\nGood working knowledge of cinematography in a virtual environment.\n\nPrevious experience of scene layout to match previs or storyboard reference.\n\nExcellent understanding of practical cameras and camera techniques.\n\nPrevious experience in camera tracking and animation blocking is advantageous- tracking and MatchMove experience in 3DEqualizer is beneficial.\n\nExcellent technical problem solving skills - Basic mel and python scripting is ideal but not required.\n\nAbility to work under pressure on potentially short turn around times.\n\nAbility to take direction and feedback well from a supervisor.\n\nOrganisation skills and able to create tidy scenes for use in the rest of the pipeline.\n\nAccessibility Statement\nOur London studio is fully accessible, with step-free entry, accessible toilets on all floors, and quiet spaces available.
