Driven by creativity and inspired by the future, we set out every day to reframe the possible.\nThe role\nThe Lighting Supervisor manages a team of artists on large-scale projects to ensure efficient, high-quality delivery. Serving as a primary point of contact, this role involves close collaboration with local VFX/CG Supervisors and Production, as well as global HODs and cross-site leads.\nTasked with upholding studio workflows, the Lighting Supervisor fosters an efficient, unified environment for the team. This role requires proactive engagement with global HODs to address emerging issues, utilizing a combination of personal technical expertise and delegated authority.\nOther responsibilities include:\nLead the lighting and lookdev team to deliver world-class visuals that meet the clients vision.\n\nWork closely with production and supervision to ensure deliveries are met and the team are utilised effectively.\n\nCollaborate with global HODs for lighting and lookdev to discuss regular updates on technical advancements and workflow practice. Proactively pushing the creative and technical level of the lighting department output.\n\nMeet with and communicate regularly with leads and supervisors in other locations to stay up to date with global show deliveries and dependencies.\n\nCollaborate with other departments early in the process to plan requirements and develop smooth workflow methodologies.\n\nMentor and support the lighting artists, helping them manage their work and grow their technical skills, leading by example.\n\nRequirements\nEssential Skills:\nSignificant experience in a Lead or Supervisor role within high-end film VFX.\n\nA deep understanding of physically plausible lighting and lookdev workflows.\n\nStrong knowledge of Houdini, Solaris and USD based workflows\n\nExcellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm under the pressure of production deadlines.\n\nStrong technical knowledge of industry-standard lighting software and renderers.\n\nDesirable Experience:\nExperience with Shotgrid for project management.\n\nA background in developing proprietary tools or scripting for lighting pipelines.\n\nFramestore is proud to employ extraordinary talent across all genders, races, nationalities, religions, ages, abilities and sexual preferences.
