The Role

As Assistant General Manager, you'll support the overall commercial and operational performance of the club, helping to create a best-in-class experience for members while delivering key business objectives.

You'll be responsible for driving results, maintaining high operational standards and developing a motivated team that consistently delivers outstanding service.

Leadership & People Development

  • Coach, motivate and develop colleagues to achieve their full potential
  • Support recruitment, onboarding and retention of top talent
  • Deliver regular performance conversations and feedback
  • Help create a positive, energetic and high-performing team culture
  • Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism and accountability

Commercial Performance

  • Support delivery of all revenue streams including memberships, Personal Training and secondary spend
  • Drive sales performance through effective member engagement and conversion
  • Monitor and improve club KPIs and business performance metrics
  • Support local marketing activity and member growth initiatives
  • Identify opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency

Member Experience

  • Create an exceptional experience for every member, every visit
  • Build a welcoming and inclusive club environment
  • Resolve member queries and concerns with professionalism and urgency
  • Drive member retention through exceptional service standards
  • Ensure delivery of Everlast's member journey programmes and initiatives

Operational Excellence

  • Support the day-to-day running of the club
  • Ensure company processes, standards and initiatives are delivered effectively
  • Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness, presentation and safety
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Support Health & Safety compliance, risk management and pool plant operations where applicable

Adaptability & Accountability

  • Take ownership of challenges and deliver practical solutions
  • Respond positively to change and support colleagues through it
  • Maintain high standards, even in a fast-paced environment
  • Act as a role model for professionalism, resilience and continuous improvement

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Previous leadership experience within fitness, leisure, hospitality or retail
  • Strong track record of leading teams and delivering business results
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to influence performance
  • Passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences
  • Flexible approach to working patterns, including evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays

Desirable

  • Level 2 Fitness Qualification
  • Experience working within a gym, health club or leisure environment
  • Knowledge of membership sales, retention and fitness operations
  • Pool plant and Health & Safety experience
