Our goal is to advance the energy transition by providing concrete, implementable technological solutions through excellent research results, successful industrial collaborations, and spin-offs. To this end, our ~1,300 employees conduct research in four key areas: energy supply, energy distribution, energy storage, and energy utilization. Fraunhofer ISE's state-of-the-art R&D infrastructure, with 22,300 m² of laboratory space, enables cutting-edge research at an international level.\nBe part of change\nWould you like to actively contribute to the energy transition and gain valuable hands-on experience during your studies? Join us and help turn this vision into reality.\nYou will support our \"Degradation Analysis and Modelling\" group, which focuses on evaluating the performance and reliability of the latest photovoltaic modules. As part of the thesis, efficient stabilization procedures will be developed for commercial PV modules incorporating emerging cell technologies, both before and after accelerated aging tests.\nFor our group \"Degradation Analysis and Modelling\", we are looking for a student assistant starting on January 16, 2027, with the opportunity to complete a Bachelor's or Master's thesis. Your tasks will include:\nYou subject PV modules to aging tests and stabilization procedures using climate chambers and solar simulators.\nYou characterize module behavior by measuring and analyzing current-voltage curves during and after stabilization.\nYou evaluate experimental results and derive efficient best practices for module stabilization.\nWhat you contribute\nYou are enrolled as a student in physics, engineering, or a comparable field of study.\nPrevious knowledge of accelerated aging tests or electrical measurements on PV modules is an advantage, but not a requirement.\nYou have strong interpersonal skills and find it easy to build and maintain trusting professional relationships.\nYou work independently, systematically, and with a high level of commitment.\nYou are able to plan upcoming tasks proactively, set priorities, and manage your time effectively.\nYou have good communication skills in both German and English.\nWhat we offer\nExclusive insight: By working together with the scientists in our work unit, you will gain an insight into everyday research and development at a research institute.\nLaboratory infrastructure: At Fraunhofer ISE, we work with state-of-the-art facilities and equipment so that research projects can be carried out using the latest technology.\nResearch mix: We give you the opportunity to combine experimental work with theory and thus apply and expand your knowledge from your studies.\nSupervision: You will be supervised in your work by scientists and receive feedback on your progress.\nTeamwork: You will gain experience of working in a team by interacting with academic and student staff and will be able to contribute the experience you have already gained.\nWorking hours and location: We offer you the opportunity to flexibly adapt your working hours to your needs by arrangement and to work from home from time to time.\nEqual opportunities: We value equal opportunities and make room for diversity.\nAfter work: Celebrate yourself and your colleagues at after-work events or our annual employee parties.\nRemuneration is based on the level of your university degree. In addition to the thesis, a contract as a student assistant is agreed. Remuneration is based on the level of your university degree.\nWe value and promote the diversity of our employees' skills and therefore welcome all applications - regardless of age, gender, nationality, ethnic and social origin, religion, ideology, disability, sexual orientation and identity. Severely disabled persons are given preference in the event of equal suitability.\nReady for change? Apply now with your detailed application documents (including CV, cover letter, employment references/certificates and/or academic transcript) and make a difference! After we receive your online application, you will automatically receive a confirmation of receipt. We will then contact you as soon as possible to let you know the next steps.\nQuestions about this position will be answered by:\nDr. Paul Gebhardt\n+49 761 4588-5042\nFraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE\nwww.ise.fraunhofer.de\nRequisition Number: 85954","description_format":"text","description_chars":4562,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":null,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"bachelor","optional":false},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[{"language":"German","level":"All levels","optional":false}]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[{"name":"Germany","iso":"DE","kind":"country"}],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Engineering Services","Research Institutes"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-19T12:12:19Z"}],"visa":[],"liveness":{"score":89,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.892,"p_room":1,"age_days":5,"expected_fill_days":23,"reasons":["conf:12","velocity","win:early","comp:brand"],"computed_at":"2026-10-25T05:49:26Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/fraunhofer-gesellschaft-thesis-stabilization-procedures-for-pv-modules","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/fraunhofer-gesellschaft-thesis-stabilization-procedures-for-pv-modules.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-25T10:02:54Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":14475,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-10-26T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":18856},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=18856"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Ffraunhofer-gesellschaft-thesis-stabilization-procedures-for-pv-modules"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Ffraunhofer-gesellschaft-thesis-stabilization-procedures-for-pv-modules"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Ffraunhofer-gesellschaft-thesis-stabilization-procedures-for-pv-modules"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/fraunhofer-gesellschaft-thesis-stabilization-procedures-for-pv-modules\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Ffraunhofer-gesellschaft-thesis-stabilization-procedures-for-pv-modules"}]}
