An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a designated supervisor.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nSoftware Development\n\nThe duties of the officer under Software Development will entail:\n\nParticipating in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.\n\nUndertaking software development to provide basic software solutions that support organizational operations, using various programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C#, .NET, Django, Angular).\n\nImplementing software development best practices, including agile methodologies, version control, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) protocols.\n\nWriting clean, well-documented, and efficient code.\n\nParticipating in the testing of applications to identify and resolve defects.\n\nProviding technical support and troubleshooting for existing applications.\n\nParticipating in the integration of new applications with existing systems.\n\nMaintaining and updating systems documentation.\n\nNetworks & Data Centre\n\nThe duties of the officer under Networks & Data Centre will entail:\n\nAssisting in planning, designing, and implementing secure common data centres.\n\nMonitoring the data centre environment and resources (power, cooling, space) and all other equipment to ensure service efficiency.\n\nDocumenting operational procedures for the data centre.\n\nAssisting in maintaining a full register of data centre equipment.\n\nEnsuring data centre requests and incidents are logged, tracked, and resolved.\n\nWorking closely with third-party service providers on data centre management.\n\nParticipating in monitoring and mitigating data centre cybersecurity threats.\n\nParticipating in the development and implementation of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plans for data centres and hosted systems.\n\nParticipating in the development and review of network and infrastructure standards and protocols relating to data centres.\n\nParticipating in researching, planning, implementing, and installing new hardware and software within the data centre.\n\nCompiling ICT network and data centre management reports.\n\nQualifications\n\nFor appointment to this grade, an officer must have:\n\nA Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or an equivalent discipline from a recognized institution.\n\nProficiency in relevant computer applications.\n\nHow to Apply\n\nInterested and qualified persons in the above positions can access detailed job descriptions, job specifications, experiences and other requirements on our website and are requested to make their applications ONLINE through the Centre’s websites: www.frc.go.ke\n\nApplications should be received on or before 16th November, 2026 latest 17:00hrs (EAT).\n\nPLEASE NOTE:\n\nCandidate should provide all the details requested for in the advertisement.
