Applications are accepted on a continuous basis and reviewed by the Department Chair and/or Dean when openings become available. Adjunct positions are on a semester-by-semester basis.\nResponsibilities of the Adjunct Instructor will include but not be limited to:\nTeach the required/assigned course.\nEvidence of knowledge and skills related to the teaching of adults.\nHelp develop, implement, evaluate and update the purpose, philosophy, objective and organizational framework of Freed-Hardeman University.\nAssist in the design, implementation, and evaluation of the assigned curriculum.\nProvide academic guidance to students in collaboration with the chair/dean of the program.\nPlan and provide theoretical instruction and clinical experiences that reflect an understanding of the philosophy, objectives and curriculum.\nEvaluate student achievement of curricular objectives/outcomes related to the course, the discipline’s knowledge and practice.\nSchedule time for classroom preparation.\nPerform other similar duties as assigned.\nRequirements\nFaithful member of the Church of Christ.\nThe expected minimum credentialing is a Master’s degree in the specified discipline, or Master’s degree in a related field that includes at least 18 hours of the specified discipline; however, a Ph.D. is preferred.\nPreferred teaching experience on the college/university level.\nStrong interpersonal skills and positive energy regarding professional education.\nAbility to work collaboratively and effectively with other faculty members, as well as students.\nExcellent verbal, written, and electronic communication skills.\nAbility to perform the requirements of the job description (listed above).\nFreed-Hardeman University is a private institution, associated with churches of Christ, dedicated to moral and spiritual values, academic excellence, and service in a friendly, supportive environment.
