This position is responsible for teaching a first-year success strategies course, coordinating academic support services, tracking retention data, and providing proactive outreach to students identified as at risk. The coordinator is responsible for advising students in their course selection and advancement towards their desired degree. The coordinator works collaboratively with faculty, staff, and campus partners to foster an environment where students are empowered to thrive academically and personally.\nKey Responsibilities\nTeaching & Student Development\n? Teach a course on student success strategies, academic skills, and college preparedness.\n? Develop curriculum, assessments, and resources that equip students with time management, study skills, and goal-setting tools.\n? Provide mentorship and individualized support to students enrolled in the course.\nRetention & Outreach\n? Track and analyze student retention, persistence, and success data to identify trends and needs.\n? Conduct outreach and follow-up with students at risk of withdrawal or not returning.\n? Manage student referrals from faculty and connect students to appropriate resources.\n? Develop and implement initiatives to improve student retention and engagement.\nAcademic Support Services Management\n? Oversee supplemental instruction, tutoring programs, and peer-led learning initiatives.\n? Recruit, train, and supervise student leaders, tutors, and peer mentors.\n? Monitor utilization, effectiveness, and quality of academic support services.\n? Collaborate with faculty to align tutoring and supplemental services with course needs.\nCollaboration & Campus Engagement\n? Serve as a resource for faculty and staff on student success and retention strategies.\n? Coordinate with advising, counseling, and other student support offices to provide holistic support.\n? Develop workshops and programs that promote academic success and student engagement\nWork Environment\n? Full-time position during the fall and spring semesters, with flexible working schedule during June and July.\n? Office and classroom setting with regular interaction with students, faculty, and staff.\nRequirements\nRequired:\n? Master’s degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Counseling, or related field.\n? Experience in teaching, academic advising, or student success programming.\n? Strong communication, organizational, and data analysis skills.\n? Ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations.\nPreferred:\n? Experience managing tutoring or supplemental instruction programs.\n? Familiarity with computer software and report writing such as Excel, Tableau or Sequel.\n?
