The program provides full life cycle support services through design, development, sustainment, and modernization of the agency's geospatial web services and tools. The program also supports commercial geospatial products including enterprise deployments, customizations and geospatial analyst support. These applications are used across the IC enterprise and are vital to its daily functions to support geospatial analysis and visualization. The program operates in Contractor facilities in the Annapolis Junction region and allows up to 16 hours per week of telework.\nThe Test Engineer is responsible for: \nTest Planning and Strategy:Develop and implement test strategies, plans, and test cases for geospatial applications and Java microservices, considering functional, performance, and security aspects\nTest Automation:Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using testing frameworks and tools for efficient regression testing\nManual Testing:Conduct manual testing to verify complex geospatial analysis and visualization features, ensuring they meet user requirements and quality standards\nRegression Testing:Perform regression testing to identify and track software defects and ensure that they are resolved before release\nPerformance Testing:Evaluate the performance of Java microservices and geospatial applications to identify bottlenecks and optimize system performance\nDocumentation:Create and maintain comprehensive test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test reports\nCollaboration:Work closely with development teams to understand software requirements, provide feedback on design, and advocate for quality testing practices\nIssue Reporting:Identify, report, and track defects using issue tracking systems and work collaboratively with developers to ensure timely resolution\nContinuous Improvement:Actively contribute to process improvements, recommend testing best practices, and stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies\nRequired Qualifications : \nActive TS/SCI w/ Polygraph\nTwo (2) years’ experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required.\nBachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field. Four (4) years of additional Test Engineer experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.\nStrong proficiency in Python is required for designing and implementing automated test solutions, developing test frameworks, and integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines.\nDesired Qualifications :\nProven experience in software testing with a focus on geospatial applications and Java microservices, and RESTful APIs\nKnowledge of geospatial techniques, analysis, and visualization\nProficiency in test automation using tools like Selenium, JUnit, or similar\nFamiliarity with testing RESTful APIs and microservices architecture\nExperience with performance testing tools such as JMeter or Gatling\nSolid understanding of software testing methodologies and best practices\nExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail\nStrong communication and teamwork abilities\nAbility to work independently and take ownership of test efforts\nThe estimated salary range for this position is between $120,000.00 and $170,000.00 (annualized USD). This range reflects the typical pay for the role and is one part of the company's comprehensive compensation package.
