The position focuses on application integration, workflow orchestration, platform engineering, secure data access, and production operations. The engineer will collaborate with software, platform, data, cybersecurity, and mission teams to translate approved operational processes into reliable SI-enabled workflows.\nAs a Phantom SI Engineer, you will be working primarily on backend code fusing multiple data sources and processes together providing immediate value to the analysts by automating their workflows. You will function as a technical expert and be responsible for leading major assignments and guiding project outcomes. You will work with stakeholders from across the Intelligence Community and will need to be comfortable communicating with both military and civilian personnel. You will work on multiple projects each day so must be comfortable context switching between applications. \nResponsibilities:\nDesign and implement agentic workflows that coordinate approved services, tools, data sources, and human actions.\nDevelop reusable orchestration components, APIs, connectors, tool interfaces, and workflow templates\nDevelop, secure, test, and operate Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers and tools for approved enterprise services and data sources.\nImplement workflow state management, conditional routing, retries, timeouts, error handling, and recovery.\n Integrate approved SI and large language model services into enterprise applications.\nImplement retrieval-augmented generation, semantic search, and knowledge-retrieval capabilities.\nEstablish human review, approval, escalation, and override controls.\nEnforce authorization, data-handling, and operational boundaries throughout workflow execution.\nPreserve citations, provenance, workflow configurations, source versions, and audit records.\nProtect workflows from untrusted inputs, prompt injection, unauthorized tool use, and data disclosure.\nTest workflow logic, tool interactions, failure conditions, security boundaries, and end-to-end behavior.\nDeploy and operate SI-enabled applications on containerized enterprise platforms.\nEstablish CI/CD and DevSecOps automation for SI-enabled applications and services.\nMonitor workflow availability, latency, resource consumption, errors, and integration health.\nTroubleshoot application, platform, database, and service-integration issues.\nSupport deployment in classified, disconnected, and air-gapped environments.\nProduce architecture diagrams, interface specifications, deployment instructions, and operational documentation.\nCollaborate with domain experts to translate approved mission requirements and policies into technical workflows.\nKey Technologies:\nLinux\nPython and JavaScript (React)\nContainerization (Docker, Podmad, Kubernetes)\nVS Code, Gitlab, Confluence, and Jira\nAI Software Development\nArgo Workflows\nAWS Services\nData Types: Structured and Unstructured, JSON, XML, Geospatial, etc.\nRequired Qualifications:\nAn active TS/SCI security clearance (eligible for CI Poly) \n9-13 years of data science/software development experience\nExperience designing and developing production software that orchestrates multiple services, tools, or data sources.\nExperience implementing agentic workflows with bounded tool use and human-in-the-loop controls.\nProficiency in Python, Java, or another enterprise programming language.\nExperience developing APIs, microservices, event-driven integrations, and asynchronous workflows.\nExperience implementing workflow state, conditional execution, retries, timeouts, idempotency, and failure recovery.\nExperience integrating approved SI or large language model services into enterprise applications.\nUnderstanding of retrieval-augmented generation, embeddings, vector search, semantic retrieval, and intelligent agents.\nExperience implementing authentication, authorization, secrets management, audit logging, and data-protection controls.\nExperience with containers, Kubernetes, Git, automated testing, CI/CD, and observability.\nAbility to convert domain-expert requirements and policies into version-controlled workflow logic.\nStrong systems-integration, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.\nDesired Qualifications:\nExperience administering or developing solutions with Red Hat OpenShift AI.\nExperience with Oracle AI Database, including vector-search and semantic-retrieval capabilities.\nExperience deploying services in classified, disconnected, or air-gapped environments.\nExperience supporting GEOINT, Intelligence Community, defense, or national-security missions.\nExperience developing MCP servers, clients, tools, and authorization controls.\nFamiliarity with geospatial data, imagery services, spatial databases, knowledge graphs, or enterprise search.\nExperience implementing policy-as-code, data provenance, citations, and record-level handling controls.\nFamiliarity with agent interoperability protocols and standardized tool interfaces.\nExperience using executable specifications, contract testing, behavior-driven development, policy-as-code, or requirements-traceability tooling.\nExperience with infrastructure as code, observability, and software supply-chain security.\nWhat’s in It for You?\nFlexible work environment\nA team mentality -
