Keep North Queensland moving. Drive with purpose. Be part of the team.

We’re looking for experienced, safety-focused Fuel Tanker Driver to join our growing Trinity Petroleum operation across Cairns.

If you take pride in safe driving, delivering great service and doing the job right every time, this could be a great opportunity to join an established local business that keeps regional Queensland moving.

With 16 retail fuel and convenience sites stretching from Townsville to Cooktown, alongside our fuel distribution operations, Trinity Petroleum plays an important role in supplying fuel to our retail sites and commercial customers.

As a Fuel Tanker Driver, you’ll be a key part of our operation, ensuring fuel is delivered safely, efficiently and in line with all required procedures and standards.

What you’ll do

Safely operate MC fuel tanker combinations to deliver bulk fuel to retail sites and commercial customers across North Queensland.

Complete fuel loading and unloading in accordance with terminal requirements, Safe Load Pass (SLP) procedures and company standards.

Follow all Dangerous Goods, environmental, fatigue management and mass management requirements.

Complete delivery paperwork, electronic transactions and other required documentation accurately.

Conduct vehicle inspections and help maintain a clean, safe and professional fleet.

Communicate effectively with customers, site operators, terminal personnel and the broader operations team.

Identify and report any safety concerns, incidents, equipment issues or operational risks.

Follow company policies and procedures and contribute to a strong safety-first culture.

What you’ll bring

A current MC Driver Licence

A current Dangerous Goods Licence

A current Safe Load Pass (SLP)

A minimum of 3 years’ articulated driving experience

A sound understanding of BFM, fatigue management and Mass Management requirements

Knowledge of Dangerous Goods handling and petroleum industry safety standards

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to following procedures

Good communication and problem-solving skills

A reliable, professional and team-focused attitude

The ability to work independently, take ownership and represent Trinity Petroleum positively

Current Cairns terminal inductions will be highly regarded

Most importantly, you’ll be someone who puts safety first, takes pride in your work and understands the importance of reliable fuel deliveries to the communities and customers we support.

Why you’ll love it here

Competitive hourly rates that recognise the skills and experience you bring

Paid medicals and paid renewals for BFM, Dangerous Goods and SLP licences

A well-maintained, modern fleet

Uniforms provided

A strong safety-first culture, where doing things the right way matters

A supportive team environment where people look out for one another

The opportunity to build a long-term career with an established North Queensland fuel and energy business

Fuel and in-store discounts, plus access to a great employee benefits platform

At Trinity Petroleum, we know our drivers are essential to keeping our operation running. We value people who are reliable, professional and committed to working safely, and we aim to provide an environment where our people feel supported and can take pride in what they do.

Ready to get moving?

If you’re an experienced MC driver who values safety, reliability and great service, we’d love to hear from you.

Apply now to join the Trinity Petroleum team and help keep North Queensland moving.

Applicants must have a valid entitlement to work in Australia and hold the licences required for the position.

This is a safety-critical operational role involving the transport, loading and unloading of petroleum products. Successful applicants must be able to perform all duties safely and in accordance with applicable legislation, licence conditions and company procedures.
