This role leads a cross-functional program spanning Human Capital Management, Finance, Supply Chain, Payroll, Planning, reporting, integrations, security, and related capabilities. The Director partners with executive sponsors, clinical and operational leaders, shared services, technology teams, implementation partners, and other stakeholders to ensure Workday supports patient-care operations, workforce effectiveness, financial stewardship, regulatory compliance, employee experience, and scalable growth across hospitals, clinics, and affiliated entities.\nResponsibilities:\nEstablish and maintain a multi-year Workday roadmap, investment priorities, operating model, and measurable outcomes aligned with the health system’s clinical, workforce, financial, supply chain, and growth strategies.\nLead steering committees and decision forums with Human Resources, Finance, Supply Chain, Payroll, Information Technology, Compliance, Internal Audit, and operational leadership; provide transparent reporting on scope, schedule, budget, quality, dependencies, risks, and benefits.\nDirect implementations, expansions, acquisitions, hospital or clinic onboarding, releases, optimization initiatives, and continuous-improvement work from planning through stabilization and transition to operations.\nOversee dependable integrations and data flows between Workday and the electronic health record, identity and access management, timekeeping, benefits, banking, procurement, revenue cycle, learning, and other clinical and business platforms.\nCoordinate functional and technical teams, resolve competing priorities, clarify decision rights, and maintain accountability across corporate, hospital, ambulatory, and shared-services workstreams.\nPromote standard Workday functionality, disciplined configuration, sustainable integrations, reliable reporting, trusted data, and reduction of unnecessary customization while meeting healthcare operational requirements.\nSponsor stakeholder engagement, communications, training, adoption, readiness, and reinforcement for leaders, managers, clinicians, and employees working across varied schedules and care settings.\nEnsure appropriate privacy, security, role-based access, segregation of duties, regulatory compliance, internal controls, audit readiness, business continuity, disaster recovery, and timely issue remediation.\nManage Workday and partner relationships, contracts, statements of work, service levels, resource commitments, performance, and commercial outcomes.\nDevelop and manage program budgets, forecasts, resource plans, business cases, and value-realization measures consistent with health system stewardship expectations.\nBuild, coach, and retain a high-performing team; establish clear roles, delivery standards, development plans, and succession strategies.\nDefine support models, release management, incident and problem management, knowledge transfer, and performance monitoring that protect payroll, financial close, supply availability, and other time-sensitive healthcare operations.\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities\nEnterprise thinking and strategic judgment\nExecutive communication and influence across clinical, operational, and corporate functions\nDecisive governance and accountability\nCollaborative, service-oriented leadership with sensitivity to patient-care operations\nFinancial, workforce, supply chain, and operational acumen\nChange leadership and stakeholder engagement across a diverse healthcare workforce\nTalent development and team building\nStructured problem-solving, operational resilience, and risk awareness\nCommitment to privacy, security, data integrity, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement\nPhysical Demands\nMust be able to work in a corporate office setting.\nProlonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.\nWorking Conditions\nAbility to work under stressful, heated conditions and work irregular hours\nNormal office environment\nThis position may require participation in planned after-hours release activities, and response to critical operational events. \nOccasional travel among organizational locations or to vendor and Workday events may be required. . \nThis is an onsite position with a hybrid work from home schedule. As a leadership position onsite presence will be required.\nRequirements\nBachelor’s degree in information technology, business, finance, human resources, supply chain, healthcare administration, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.\n5 or more years of progressive leadership experience in enterprise applications, digital transformation, ERP, Project Management or large-scale business programs.\nDemonstrated experience with multiple Workday domains, such as HCM, Financial Management, Supply Chain Management, Payroll, Adaptive Planning, reporting, security, integrations, or data conversion.\nProven success leading complex, programs involving executive stakeholders, clinical and operational partners, cross-functional teams, external vendors, and significant organizational change.\nStrong command of program governance, financial management, risk management, vendor management, delivery methodologies, and benefits realization.\nExperience operating in a complex, regulated, multi-hospital or integrated healthcare environment with 24/7 operations, shared services, and multiple legal entities.\nPreferred Requirements\nMaster’s degree in business administration, information systems, healthcare administration, or a related discipline.\nWorkday certification or substantial hands-on leadership across Workday product areas.\nProgram management certification, such as PMP, PgMP, or an equivalent credential.\nLeadership experience within an integrated delivery network, academic medical center, multi-hospital health system, or similarly complex healthcare organization.\nExperience integrating Workday with an enterprise electronic health record and healthcare-specific workforce, supply chain, or financial applications.\nExperience supporting acquisitions, affiliations, shared services, provider organizations, or geographically distributed hospital and ambulatory operations.\nFreeman Perks and Programs\nFor eligible full time and part time employees Freeman offers a wide variety of career opportunities, a great work culture and generous benefits, most starting day one!
