The integrated full-service solutions leverage a 99-year legacy in event management as well as new technologies to deliver moments that matter.\nSummary\nThe Technical Director develops, oversees, and directly implements creative concepts and strategy for clients. The role is responsible for technical leadership, management and staffing as it pertains to the production process from point of opportunity to point of completion. This role is responsible for the planning and coordinating technical requirements for produced events.\nThis position is hybrid with expected travel to show site but would benefit from hybrid schedule based out of our Dallas, Texas office.\nDallas, TX\nLas Vegas, NV\nOrlando, FL \nEssential Duties & Responsibilities\nDevelops senior level relationships with clients that position Studio Blue as a strategic partner advisor leading to account growth and successful project delivery.\nWorks closely with clients, sales staff, operations, and project managers to develop event designs and to coordinate pre-production, onsite, and post-production activities in line with event budget.\nMentors and coaches team members to provide development and growth opportunities.\nNegotiates client contracts on behalf of Client Solutions Manager/Sales representative.\nParticipates in the selection or evaluation of resourcing for projects including Contingent resources. \nCreates diagrams for shows events based on budgeted designs; ensures on-site personnel have and understand this information.\nAssists in the scheduling and/or recommending of personnel to optimize resources.\nOversees load-in, load-out, install, and dismantle of equipment; coordinates both technical and labor crews.\nResponsible for ensuring the correct specification setup and optimization of event requirements.\nSupervises the installation, optimization, and monitoring of technical systems; oversees scenic construction and ensures it is within establish show design parameters.\nOversees installation for full-time, part-time and contingent labor force.\nDirects workflow for teams at events with a high degree of complexity.\nProduces stage scenic involving multiple elements, mediums, and materials.\nGenerates and maintains a comprehensive production book and schedule for each event.\nCoordinates logistics with multiple vendors for all events’ needs.\nCoordinates and supervises on-site labor and review any labor budget impacts with EP and Client Solutions Manager.\nDrives safety standards and practices.\nParticipates in developing and implementing SOP for Studio Blue production workflows.\nStays abreast of industry trends and knowledge.\nEducation & Experience\nBachelor’s degree preferred, High School Diploma or Equivalent with relevant work experience required.\nMinimum 15 yrs experience working in project management with a minimum of 10 yrs focused on corporate events, special events, entertainment, or theater; or equivalent combination of education, certification and experience.\nAbility to engineer instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.\nAbility to communicate how to install and troubleshoot various related equipment.\nAbility to incorporate advanced problem-solving techniques with labor team.\nAbility to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry to relevant situations.\nAbility to calculate figures such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.\nProven aptitude in CAD programs; ability to develop and interpret AutoCAD, VectorWorks, and/or architectural drawings and renderings.\nIn-depth knowledge base of audio, lighting, video, and set systems.\nAbility to navigate ambiguous situations.\nDiplomacy and tact in high-pressure situations involving different personality types.\nExperience delivering training programs to diverse groups.\nStrong general business acumen.\nProficient in Google Drive and Microsoft Office.\nStrong attention to detail, a positive attitude, and a team player.\nAbility to operate within a fast-paced environment.\nExcellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.\nTravel Requirements\nTravel 25% to 50%\nWhat We Offer\nThe Freeman Company provides benefits that aim to empower our people and their families to thrive mentally, physically, and financially.
