The ideal candidate is dependable, flexible, with attention to detail and is team oriented. This person is responsible for all things related to sample processing and equipment maintenance. You are passionate about making a direct impact on patient lives through attention to detail, diligence in the lab, and cooperative teamwork. You will have a significant impact on the continued growth of a high profile technology organization that is changing the landscape on early cancer detection.\nThis role reports to the Supervisor, Analytical Laboratory.\nWorking Hours:\nThis position follows one of two schedules, (subject to change based on business needs):\nShift 1: Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.\n Shift 2: Monday-Friday, 10:00 a.m.-6:30 p.m.\nOnboarding training for Shift 2 takes place Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m., and may last up to two (2) months. Periodic extended hours and weekend rotations may be required for approximately six (6) months. \nWhat you’ll do:\nPerform equipment maintenance according to the laboratory’s standard operating procedures (SOPs) for machines and devices including, but not limited to, the following: centrifuges, freezers, refrigerators, pipettors, microplate readers, NovaSeq units, Agilent Bravo units, Hamilton units, and work cells, as needed\nCreate sample batches, printing labels, and labeling tubes and plates\nMaintain sufficient inventory of material, supplies, and equipment in the laboratory for performance of duties\nDocument all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory’s established performance specifications\nAssist CLSs with preparation and aliquoting of reagents\nAssist CLSs during sample testing\nAssist CLSs with quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) functions\nParticipate in projects under the supervision of a CLS or supervisor along with maintaining quality and an efficient workflow in daily duties\nParticipate in cross-departmental projects\nAssist with the training of existing laboratory personnel in new procedures and the training of new laboratory personnel\nAssist with internal audits and inspection preparation, as needed\nSet up the Hamilton and assisting with Hamilton automated procedures\nSet up the work cell and assisting with work cell automated procedures\nEnsure on-time calibration of laboratory equipment is scheduled and performed\nReport all concerns of test quality and/or safety to the supervisor or safety officer\nWork closely with the CLSs and Accessioning Team to provide consistent and ongoing support to the entire Service Department\nCheck, monitor, and record temperatures, perform root-cause analysis of deviations, and implement a resolution or initiating a service request as necessary\nWrite and revise SOPs as needed\nOrganize and maintain laboratory, equipment, personnel, and training documents\nIdentify process improvement opportunities and report to laboratory management \nProvide guidance for new Clinical Laboratory Associates\nMust haves:\nZero to one years of work experience in a clinical laboratory setting\nThe ability to prioritize tasks with a high emphasis on quality\nStrong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail\nThe ability to work as part of a team within a highly collaborative environment\nFlexibility to variable shift start times depending on operational needs\nNice to haves:\nHigh sample volume laboratory experience preferred\nExperience working with automated equipment/systems\nHave working knowledge of local, state and federal laboratory regulations\nAdditional information:\nContractors may be hired through a third-party provider and will be considered contingent workers.
