As Coastal Engineer, you will lead technical delivery for coastal and navigation projects spanning planning, design and construction-phase services while growing your project management, client relationshipsand technical leadership experience.\nWhat You’llDo\nLead engineering deliverables for coastal and navigation planning, designand construction-phase projects\n\nManage small- to medium-sized projects or support project management for larger, more complex assignments\n\nCoordinate project teams, schedules, resourcesand technical tasks to support quality delivery within established scope and budget\n\nDevelop and review engineering analyses, calculations, studies, reports, plansand other technical deliverables\n\nApply quality assurance and quality control processes while reviewing your work and the work of project team members\n\nGuide engineers and technical staff on assigned project tasks and follow up on schedules, deliverablesand technical requirements\n\nBuild client relationships through project delivery, technical discussions, conferencesand other industry activitiesIdentify opportunities to improve technical approaches, processes and project delivery methods and share recommendations with project teams\n\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in engineering\n\nProfessional Engineer license\n\n4+ years of related engineering experience, including work requiring independent evaluation, selectionand application of standard engineering techniques\n\nExperience delivering coastal or navigation projects and working with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers\n\nExperience coordinating project teams and working directly with clients, regulatory agenciesor other project stakeholders\n\nPreferred\nMaster’s degree or higher in coastal engineering, ocean engineeringor a related engineering field\n\nProject Management Professional certification\n\nWorking knowledge of numerical modeling for coastal storm risk management, navigationor dredging projects\n\nExperience with coastal restoration, beach nourishment, shoreline protection, dredging, coastal structures, hazard analyses, hydrodynamic modelingor coastal process analyses\n\nExperience reviewing construction plans and graphics prepared in CAD and ArcGIS\n\nAbout Freese and Nichols\nAt the heart of our culture is our LEADS values (Learn continuously, Engage as family, Act with integrity, Deliver quality, and Serve always).
