The ideal candidate is a collaborative problem-solver who thrives in a client-facing environment and can translate complex data into compelling visual narratives that drive informed decision-making.\nKey Responsibilities\nClient Engagement & Business Analysis\nServe as the primary point of contact for data analytics engagements, building strong, trust-based client relationships\nFacilitate discovery sessions and stakeholder interviews to clearly define client goals, business requirements, and success metrics\nTranslate client needs into actionable technical specifications and project scopes\nCommunicate project status, findings, and deliverables to both technical and non-technical audiences with clarity and confidence\nIdentify opportunities to expand analytics services and provide value-added solutions to existing clients\nData Engineering & Management\nAssess client data environments, including sources, formats, quality, and accessibility\nDesign and implement data pipelines, transformations, and integration workflows to prepare data for analysis\nPerform data cleaning, normalization, and validation to ensure accuracy and reliability\nDevelop and maintain data models and schemas appropriate for reporting and visualization platforms\nWork with structured and unstructured data from a variety of sources, including databases, GIS systems, spreadsheets, and cloud platforms\nDashboard Development & Visualization\nDesign, develop, and deploy interactive dashboards and analytical reports tailored to client needs\nCreate intuitive, visually compelling data products that empower clients to explore and act on their data independently\nApply best practices in data visualization, UX design, and storytelling to maximize user engagement and comprehension\nMaintain and enhance existing dashboards based on evolving client requirements and feedback\nIncorporate geospatial data and mapping capabilities where applicable\nCollaboration & Innovation\nWork cross-functionally with FNI engineers, scientists, project managers, and other technical staff to integrate analytics into broader project deliverables\nStay current with emerging tools, technologies, and industry trends in data analytics and visualization\nContribute to internal knowledge sharing, process improvement, and the development of reusable frameworks and templates\nSupport business development efforts, including proposal writing and client presentations\nQualifications\nEducation:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, Geography, or a related field\nExperience:\nMinimum of five (5) years of professional experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a related discipline\nDemonstrated proficiency with one or more leading visualization platforms, including:\nMicrosoft Power BI\nTableau\nESRI Experience Builder\nOr comparable enterprise-grade tools\nProven experience with data engineering tasks, including ETL processes, data modeling, and database querying (SQL)\nStrong business analysis skills, including requirements gathering, stakeholder facilitation, and documentation\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences\nDemonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment\nClient-facing experience with a track record of successful project delivery\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nProficiency in one or more programming or scripting languages, such as:Python,\nR,\nJavaScript,\n DAX,\nM (Power Query), or\nSQL variants\n\nExperience with cloud data platforms (Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud)\nFamiliarity with GIS data and geospatial analytics\nExperience in the public sector, municipal, environmental, or infrastructure industries\nKnowledge of Agile or iterative project delivery methodologies\nRelevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft PL-300, Tableau Desktop Specialist, ESRI certifications)\nAbout Freese and Nichols\nAt the heart of our culture is our LEADS values (Learn continuously, Engage as family, Act with integrity, Deliver quality, and Serve always).
