You will collaborate closely with hardware engineers, software engineers of Smart Buildings team and other stakeholders to deliver robust and efficient IoT embedded systems. Ideal candidates will have capabilities in writing firmware in C, C++, Squirrel Language, Electronic circuits, Schematic and PCB designing, overall product development and cloud computing. Will have excellent skills in collaborative problem solving, the willingness to overcome hardware constraints, and the internal drive to create quality products.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDesign and develop embedded software for IoT devices, including firmware, device drivers, and communication protocols.\nPlay an active role in the product design, manufacturing, and cloud architecture design processes.\nWork closely with cross-functional teams to define requirements, specifications, and architecture for IoT products.\nIntegrate sensors, actuators, and other hardware components into embedded systems.\nImplement and optimize IoT connectivity solutions (e.g., MQTT, CoAP, HTTP) for seamless device communication and data exchange.\nDevelop secure embedded software solutions to safeguard IoT devices from cybersecurity threats.\nDesign and develop efficient electronic circuits for battery-powered sensing IoT devices.\nCreate high-level architecture for device data processing pipelines and health monitoring and troubleshooting systems.\nConduct testing and debugging of embedded systems to ensure reliability, stability, and performance.\nStay informed about emerging technologies and trends in IoT and embedded systems.\nSkills & Experience:\nBachelor’s degree in of Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.\nProven experience in embedded systems development, including real-time operating systems (RTOS) and microcontrollers/microprocessors.\nExperience in IoT product manufacturing from various aspects such as vendor management, component sourcing, prototyping and various large scale assembly processes.\nProficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Python, and assembly language for embedded systems.\nExperience with IoT communication protocols and standards (e.g., MQTT, CoAP, Lora WAN).\nExperience in squirrel programming for Electric IMP platform will be a plus.\nUnderstanding of electronic circuits and experience in designing and developing schematics and PCB layouts.\nExperience of hardware protocols such I2C, SPI, one wire is necessary.\nExperience with low-power design and advanced sleep modes.\nGood experience in simulation and designing of electronic circuits and PCB layouts.\nExperience interfacing with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2 modules.\nKnowledge of IoT communication protocols such as MQTT, WebSocket, LoRa, BLE etc. will be preferable.\nExperience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS IoT, Azure IoT Hub) and edge computing.\nStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.\nExcellent communication skills and ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.\nFamiliarity with wireless technologies (e.g., Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Zigbee).\nUnderstanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices for embedded systems.\nPrior experience in IoT product development and deployment.\nBehaviours and Mindset\nDemonstrated curiosity to tinker, troubleshoot, research, understand and solve.\nA keen solution mindset that helps users achieve the best out of a product feature.\nClarity of thinking and an ability to explain complex logic and reasoning in simple language.\nConvincing and confident with technical knowledge, yet humble and inclusive in getting buy-in from clients and partners.\nHighly organized, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.\nExtremely client-focused as well as flexible and agile;
