The intern will partner with supervisors and cross-functional teams to support inventory control, material delivery, and process improvement initiatives.\nThis role provides exposure to real-world problem solving, including analyzing operational data, identifying process gaps, and contributing to projects that enhance safety, efficiency, and material availability. While this date reflects our latest plans, it is subject to change, and postings may be extended or removed earlier than expected.\nWe Take Care of Our Team\nSalary placement is determined by your anticipated graduation year and ranges between $21 - $29 per hour.\nBenefits include:\nProfessional development and networking events, including resume reviews/mock interviews\nHousing and transportation stipend\nEmployee resource groups\nEvent ticket offering (based on corporate availability)\nCompany social events\nWhat You Drive at DTNA\nAnalyze material flow and inventory data to identify trends, gaps, and improvement opportunities that support reliable delivery of parts to production.\nSupport daily warehouse and logistics operations by helping monitor material shortages, investigating root causes, and assisting in the resolution of supply disruptions.\nLead or contribute to process improvement projects focused on increasing efficiency, reducing waste, and improving accuracy within warehouse and internal transportation processes.\nDevelop and maintain reports and dashboards that provide visibility into key operational metrics, helping the team make data-driven decisions.\nPartner with supervisors and cross-functional teams to improve communication and coordination between warehouse operations, production, and planning functions.\nDocument standard work and support the development of process improvements that enhance safety, quality, and productivity across the logistics operation.\nPresent findings, insights, and recommendations to department leadership, building communication and problem-solving skills in a professional environment\nSupport digitalization efforts by helping improve tracking and reporting tools used to monitor material shortages and inventory accuracy.\nAssist in identifying opportunities to optimize warehouse layout, material flow paths, and storage strategies to improve efficiency.\nLead and support efforts to foster an inclusive and welcoming workplace culture where everyone belongs\nKnowledge You Should Bring\nMust be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program or higher from an accredited college/university OR have recently graduated within 1 year of the position start date (May/June) Pursuing a degree in engineering or a related field.\n\nTraining or experience in lean principles.\nFamiliarity with problem-solving tools such as RCA, 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, and PDCA cycles.\nExperience with waste elimination and continuous improvement methodologies preferred.\nProficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, data analysis) and Power BI.\nFamiliarity with SAP or other ERP systems, WMS, Visio, and AutoCAD.\nStrong teamwork and collaboration skills.\nCustomer-oriented mindset with the drive to create practical solutions.\nAbility to work cross-functionally in a dynamic environment.\nEffective communication and a willingness to receive and apply feedback.\nPassion for the automotive or trucking industry.\nStrong organizational skills, creativity, and problem-solving abilities.\nWhere We Work\nThis position is open to applicants who can work in (or relocate to) the following location(s)-\nCleveland, NC US.
