Our solutions are developed and distributed in the following business segments: Air Traffic Management & Defence (civil and military air traffic control, aeronautical information management), Public Safety (police, fire and rescue services, emergency medical services) and Public Transport & Maritime (railway and urban transport solutions, vessel traffic management).\nYour Role\nWhen it comes to Air Traffic Management, using the latest digital tower technologies from Frequentis, airports can futureproof their ATC operations at significantly lower cost than renovating or rebuilding a conventional tower. With a digital tower, operated locally or remotely, existing staff resources can work more flexibly and efficiently to manage growing volumes of traffic. A Frequentis remote tower solution is fully scalable from a single instance to a multi remote tower centre in which a central team of controllers manages multiple airports.\nWe are looking for a System Engineer who will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining secure, high-availability Linux-based systems that support the Remote Digital Tower infrastructure, ensuring seamless and reliable air traffic management operations.\n\nWorking Model\nHybrid working model with occasional home office\nRegular business travel to Vienna (approximately once per week)\nInternational business travel approximately 25% of the time (mainly Germany)\nCompany cars are available for travel to Vienna\nKey Tasks\nInstalling and integrating systems and system components into existing system environments\nAssisting our customers with their technical queries about the operation, configuration and service of the serviced system\nDocumentation and analysis of reported incidents and problems\nCoordinating and carrying out root cause analyses and remedies\nDesigning, planning and technically executing changes and extensions to existing systems (change requests)\nCoordinating with product development teams and/or development teams on error analysis and troubleshooting\nSite acceptance with customers\nKey Qualifications\nTechnical Skills & Competencies\nInstall, configure, and maintain Linux servers (particularly RHEL), including updates, upgrades & troubleshooting issues \nBash scripting \nSolid experience with virtualization platforms (VMware preferred) \nExperience with various storage technologies \nExperience with networking \nUnderstanding of clustering concepts\nAnalytical skills to localize errors and sources of errors in distributed systems\nPrecise and thorough documentation abilities\nPersonality requirements & Skills\nStrong professional communication and client-relationship skills, including in critical situations and under time pressure\nYou are flexible, self-driven, goal-oriented and structured in how you approach your work. \nYou can integrate yourself into a larger cooperation, follow corporate processes. \nWillingness to travel on business trips to our headquarters in Vienna once per week (possibility to use a company car)\n\nCandidates with education suit the position\nSecondary with school-leaving examination\nUniversity education (Bachelor's degree)\nUniversity education (Master's degree)\nEducational Specialization\nInformation Technology\nTelecommunications\nLanguage skills\nEnglish - Advanced (C1) and German - Intermediate (B1)\nOur Values\nAround 3,600 employees are committed to creating a safer world with their innovative strength and technology orientation.
