You will need to navigate back to your application to complete and submit it.\nIf you have any questions, please call the HR line at 503-859-4200.\n\nJOB SUMMARY\n\nThe CNC Operator reports to the Plant Manager/ Shift Supervisor and will provide support in programming, setting up, and operating the computer numerical control (CNC) machine in support of manufacturing operations, specifically for the Mass Plywood Plant. The CNC Operator will maintain quality and safety standards pertinent to this machine center and maintain records for equipment supplies.\nThis position will train on day shift, but may move to swing shift, once training completed.\n\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS\n\nPlans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).\nPlans stock inventory by checking stock to determine amount available; anticipating needed stock; placing and expediting orders for stock; verifying receipt of stock.\nSetting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.\nLoads panels to be processed onto CNC table via overhead cranes.\nVerifies settings by measuring positions, and sample workpieces, adhering to international standards.\nMaintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.\nRegular Attendance and Punctuality\nMaintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.\nMaintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.\nMaintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.\nDocuments actions by completing production and quality logs.\n\nOTHER RESPONSIBILITIES\n\nResponsibilities are not limited to the above mentioned and may include assisting other branches within reasonable and related tasks.\n\nQualifications\n\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS\n\nStanding for an extended period of time on concrete\nUp and down stairs and on and off machinery\nAbility to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. \nWhile performing the dutiesof this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, sit, talk, or hear. \nExposed to varying indoor and outdoor weather conditions\n\nQUALIFICATIONS\n\nHigh school degree or equivalent\nExperience working with controls & large instrumentation \nAbility to operate a crane & forklift, preferred, but not required\nAble to maintain strict control over customer data files and revisions\nMust have and demonstrate strong organizational and time-management skills\nMust have and demonstrate a highly effective attention to details\nAbility to work effectively with multiple logistics and other software programs including email, spreadsheets, word processing, etc. \nMust have positive and effective interpersonal communication skills and ability to work well with others.
