You will design technical tasks, establish reliable evaluation criteria, and develop reference implementations that allow AI systems to be measured against real-world engineering standards.\nAI or machine learning experience is not required. Your expertise in software development, debugging, architecture, performance, and code quality is the primary qualification.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign realistic software engineering challenges for AI agents.\n\nBuild reinforcement learning environments involving MCP-based tool discovery and interaction.\n\nCreate tasks covering bug resolution, feature development, refactoring, and performance optimization.\n\nDevelop reproducible environments with predictable setup and execution.\n\nImplement deterministic tests and verification methods to assess AI-generated solutions.\n\nProduce high-quality reference implementations and golden solutions.\n\nEvaluate whether tasks accurately measure software engineering ability and effective MCP tool usage.\n\nApply sound engineering judgment to ensure tasks reflect realistic development scenarios.\n\nMaintain a high standard for correctness, reliability, scalability, and reproducibility.\n\nWhat We're Looking For\nProfessional proficiency in one or more of C++, Python, Java, Go, TypeScript, or Rust.\n\nStrong command of algorithms and data structures.\n\nPractical experience debugging complex software problems.\n\nDemonstrated experience implementing features within established codebases.\n\nStrong understanding of refactoring and software maintainability.\n\nExperience identifying and resolving performance and scalability issues.\n\nAbility to understand complex technical requirements and translate them into working solutions.\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication.\n\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to technical quality.\n\nAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively with distributed teams.\n\nPreferred Experience\nLarge-scale or distributed systems.\n\nAI/ML, LLMs, agentic systems, or AI evaluation.\n\nTechnical benchmarking or software evaluation.\n\nAdvanced testing and automated verification.\n\nCode review and engineering quality processes.\n\nOpen-source or other collaborative software development environments.\n\nApplication Process\nSubmit your application and screening responses.\n\nComplete an approximately 30-minute AI interview.\n\nComplete a technical assessment, if applicable.\n\nHiring team review.\n\nContract Details\nEngagement: Independent contractor\n\nWork arrangement: Fully remote\n\nExpected workload: Approximately 15 hours per week\n\nWorking hours: Self-directed and flexible\n\nWeekend work: Permitted\n\nStart: Successful candidates are expected to begin within 24-48 hours of completing onboarding.\n\nHiring timeline: Positions are typically filled within approximately 48 hours.\n\nCompensation\nThe engagement uses an output-based payment model.
