Performs janitorial duties.\nAssist in the fulfillment of the organization’s vision and mission.\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS\nEnsures all passengers are properly secure.\nOperate wheelchairs lift properly for loading and unloading passengers.\nEnsures all wheel chair equipment is stored properly prior to movement of vehicle.\nMaintains a good rapport with passengers, activity centers, staff, care providers/staff.\nAttends mandatory required training and various meetings regarding safety and first aid.\nSafely transport children and staff from designated pick up and drop off locations.\nTransports children and staff to special events, such as field trips and other events as needed.\nConducts safety and operational inspection of assigned vehicle daily and submits daily vehicle condition report.\nResponsible for maintaining a safe environment within the bus by enforcing rules of conduct and responding to emergencies.\nMoves furniture and transports supplies as needed.\nOperates yard maintenance equipment and hand tools as needed.\nEnsures the bus can be operated safely before driving and conducts pre-trip safety inspections as required by federal and state laws to include observing visual defects and checking operating systems to include brakes, horn, lights, emergency flashers, extended stop arms, and door-opening devices.\nMaintains cleanliness of vehicle to ensure safe operating condition.\nReports needed mechanical repairs when necessary.\nPerform janitorial duties at Head Start sites as assigned including but not limited to sweeping, moping, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning and sanitizing. Includes using compound such as soaps, waxes, chemicals, and other supplies to maintain cleanliness.\nTravels for work related business using personal/ organization's vehicle.\nMaintains regular attendance and punctuality.\nWorks evenings and weekends as required.\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\n\nQUALIFICATIONS\nTo execute this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nEDUCATION:\nHigh school diploma or GED.\nEXPERIENCE:\nMinimum of six (6) months of related experience, including the safe operation of motor vehicles with a commercial A or B license with Air Brakes, Passenger (P)/ School Bus Endorsement (S). \nOTHER QUALIFICATIONS:\nMust be at least 21 years of age.\nPossess and maintain a valid commercial A or B license with passenger/school bus endorsement required.\nCPR and First Aid Certified.\nAbility to use two-way radio.\nAbility to drive-in all-weather conditions.\nAbility to read and follow maps.\nPossess basic janitorial skills and have knowledge of cleaning solutions and janitorial equipment.\nWilling to work non-traditional hours and days to meet the needs of this position.\nMaintain a valid California driver’s license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance in compliance with state law, and meet the organization’s insurance requirements for operating organization vehicles.\nPass required drug and alcohol testing prior to employment; will be subject to continual urine and breath testing throughout employment.\nPass required background investigation including medical examination and TB clearance, acceptable criminal record statement, Department of Justice fingerprint clearance, and child abuse index clearance.\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
