We operate at the intersection of geospatial data, computer vision, and defense operations - and if that interests you, read on.We are looking for an experienced Field QA Engineer to own the quality of the navigation software running on unmanned ground vehicles - validated against the real, physical unit in the field, not just in a simulator, and then to represent that quality live in front of customers and partners. This is not a desk-only QA role: roughly 70% of your time is hands-on testing (hardware, software, networking, and simulation), and the rest is running and supporting live demos - where you’ll set up the system, troubleshoot on the spot, and carry field feedback back to the engineering team. You will need to be comfortable working from a command-line/terminal interface (Linux shell, SSH, logs), just as comfortable with cables and connectors, and equally comfortable explaining what you’re doing to a non-technical audience abroad.\nResponsibilities\nTest the robot as a full system - hardware, software, and the connection between them - not just the application layer\nValidate network and wireless connectivity between the robot and its control station, and diagnose connection issues (latency, packet loss, dropped links) when they occur\nGet physically hands-on with the unit: cabling, connectors, power, sensors - you are expected to understand the device, not just the screen showing its output\nTravel for field testing as needed\nIdentify, reproduce, and clearly document bugs across hardware and software, and work directly with engineers to get them resolved fast\nRepresent Farsight Vision at demos for international customers and partners - presenting the platform, fielding technical questions, and troubleshooting live\nAct as the link between engineering and the field/business context: collect feedback from demos and clients and translate it into clear, actionable input for the team\nWhen bandwidth allows, extend testing support to other Farsight Vision products (FSP platform, FSV app)\nRequirements\nQA experience with hardware, embedded, or IoT-adjacent systems - not purely web/app QA\nWorking understanding of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP basics, wireless protocols, and how to diagnose connectivity problems\nComfortable working hands-on with physical devices and basic diagnostic tools\nBasic knowledge of Linux terminal\nBasic knowledge of networking (IP address, VPN, ethernet, router vs switch, etc.)\nAdvanced English (Upper-Intermediate+); able to present and troubleshoot live in front of international customers\nNice to have\nA hands-on electronics hobby - soldering, hardware tinkering, home lab, ham radio, or similar.
