Through a strong safety culture, proactive risk management, and a shared responsibility for wellbeing, we empower our teams to work safely, protect the environment, and deliver projects responsibly for our clients and communities.\nWorking in alignment with the respective Business Partner (BP), the HSSE&Q Field Advisor is responsible for directly supporting operational activities and projects at the worksite to champion cultural transition, compliance, and continual improvement.\nJob Responsibilities\nLead by example and place Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and the protection of the Environment as core values while never intentionally placing employees, our processes, customers, or the communities in which we live and work at risk.\nProvide technical expertise and guidance on HSSE matters to management, employees, and stakeholders, and serve as resource for HSSE related inquires and concerns.\nAct as an HSSE ‘Swiss Army Knife’, with capacity and competence to directly support field operations, including coaching/mentoring, client engagements, risk management, audits, investigations, project documentation support, learning teams’ facilitation and other support requirements.\nMonitor and influence compliance with HSSE regulations, standards, and procedures, and communicate requirements and expectations to employees and contractors on worksite including hazard observations.\nConduct spot verifications of project risk controls to ensure effectiveness.\nCollaborate with project teams to develop and implement risk assessment and management strategies for ongoing project changes, processes, and activities.\nConduct regular inspections and audits of worksite, equipment, and processes to identify hazards, risks, and non-compliance issues.\nEnsure accordance to company standards, industry standards, QHSSE policy and local regulations.\nOther duties as assigned.\nJob Requirements\nAuthorized to work in the United States, without restrictions.\nPosses a High School or equivalent required.\n Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Risk Management preferred.\nHave 5 years or more experience in an HSSE role, preferably in a similar industry or operations management role.\nPosses a valid driver’s license with an acceptable record.\nCertification in HSSE (i.e. NEBOSH, IOSH, etc.) preferred.\nHave a valid Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC), or ability to obtain one.\nRole will be 80% Field work that is required. Willing and able to travel, as required or assigned, for extended periods of time (both land and offshore) for project work site visits, inspections, incident investigations, client meetings, or other HSSE related functions.\nPossess relevant knowledge of relevant regulations and standards impacting Fugro worksites (i.e., Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Department of Transportation (DOT), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), ISO 9001/14001&45001…etc.\nPossess strong knowledge relating to offshore safety requirements.\nPossess strong working knowledge of computers and fluent in a variety of common software business applications.\nWhat’s in it for you?\nAt Fugro, our people are our number one priority and central to our purpose to create a safe and livable world.
