Ensure that they acquire quality geo-data and samples and are well versed with the operations of various specialized deployment equipment, downhole tools, and seabed data acquisition systems (as required) in adherence to industry wide contract and technical specifications, Company procedures and standards.\nYour time will be spent onshore and offshore in the field, generally in the Asia Pacific Region, but you will have the opportunity to travel globally.\nThis job is for you if:\nYou are seeking an opportunity which will allow you take a leadership role in managing and training the offshore drilling personnel with the world’s leading Geo-data specialist company.\nYou enjoy a varied and challenging work environment well outside of a conventional working environment.\nYou have a good level of physical fitness to pass the stringent offshore medical requirements and manage the challenging offshore working conditions including working at heights.\nWho you’ll be working with:\nYou will be working under the direction of the Operations Manager (FSM) - Marine Assets & Geotechnics with a Matrix reporting to Global MSC Geotech Drilling Director (FGSL) and will work alongside other members of the Onshore / Offshore team.\nAbout the Role:\nManage and lead the Kahuna competency framework (assessments) for all drilling personnel.\n\nCarry out competency assessments for trainee drillers, drillers. Lead and support the Drilling Supervisor to discuss/advise the stakeholders on operational and HSE issues related to the Drilling equipment & operations.\n\nAssist Planning lead on planning and drive the recruitment for drilling personnel.\n\nReview and implement WI’s for drilling equipment at APAC level and ensure the same are available on APAC BMS. Monitor ongoing geotechnical operations, and ensure the operations are executed in accordance with the procedures and guidelines and corporate standards.\n\nOptimize and improve the execution of Drilling Data, Bore Hole Plans & operations.\n\nStand as SME for APAC region for Drilling equipment. Propose and lead improvements. Be a focal point with FGSL on personnel and equipment upgrade / maintenance issues.\n\nSupport the Equipment Resource Manager with the evaluation and inspection of geotechnical drilling equipment and its associated consumables.\n\nWork closely with Lead - CPT Operations on improvements to drilling systems which may have an influence on the drilling Operations.\n\nWork with the mobilization manager / vessel operations superintendent to coordinate complex port calls involving Geotech equipment.\n\nHelp enhance the career development of the personnel in the department by providing guidance and support. This includes ensuring regular appraisals by DS for drilling personnel prior to their signing off.\n\nLiaise with necessary stakeholders and be responsible for the preparation, set up, testing and maintenance of the geotechnical drilling tools, equipment and systems used to acquire geotechnical data and samples offshore.\n\nResponsible for the safe operation of all geotechnical drilling data and sample acquisition equipment.\n\nResponsible for providing remote troubleshooting advice and to deliver solutions that keeps the equipment performing to the required level.\n\nAbility to work safely and efficiently, think ahead to the next procedure and plan accordingly, and respond appropriately in emergency situations.\n\nParticipate in incident investigation and stand as action implementor for incidents involving drilling equipment.\n\nAssist the Equipment Resource Manager to manage equipment & consumables inventory and resupply for drilling equipment for vessels operating in APAC.\n\nMust be positive, confident, and keen to develop a reputation as a team player in the role, assisting both the geotechnical sampling and drilling teams as required.\n\nAbout You:\nMinimum 10 years’ Experience of offshore Geotechnical Drilling and seabed data acquisition and sampling systems operating including but not limited to sound knowledge of Fugro WISON, Fugro SEACALF, APVDB WISON, APVDB ROSON, equivalent Geomil and Datem Systems.\n\nExperienced and competent when using IT Systems and Software.\n\nProficient communication skills in both written and spoken English.\n\nAn optimistic, team orientated disposition.\n\nGood level of physical fitness to pass the stringent offshore medical requirements.\n\nFlexible to travel internationally and go offshore as and when required.\n\nOur view on diversity, equity and inclusion\nAt Fugro, our people are our superpower.
