It is not one of Fugro's three operational business lines (Marine Site Characterisation, Marine Asset Integrity, and Land); instead, it is a core support function that works across all business lines and regions.\nThe Project Accountant supports the Financial Controllers and Business/Service Line Directors with Finance Business Partnering and project control for the entity/business. Delivers meaningful, accurate and timely management reporting & analysis on project/business performance and supports execution of financial planning. Point of contact for questions on project financial performance and business analysis.\nJob Responsibilities\nLead by example and place Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and the protection of the Environment as core values while never intentionally placing employees, our processes, customers, or the communities in which we live and work at risk.\nProvides accurate and timely accounting, reporting and project control for assigned projects\nAnalyzes cost reports and meets frequently with the Business Partner and Project Managers to review status of projects for invoicing, WIP, cost, profitability and cash flow.\nDirectly responsible for monthly close cycle for assigned business segment: project review, cost accruals, margin analysis, income statement review/adjustments, along with project/segment reports.\nPrepares projects/segment monthly income statement\nSets up and maintains projects on an in-house accounting system according to contract terms.\nReviews project contracts and additional service requests to understand the financial requirements for each project.\nTracks and inputs budget/cost/revenue data for assigned projects.\nEnsures that projects are reasonable and recognize revenue using the POC method per IFRS standards\nCodes vendor A/P invoices for assigned service lines\nAnswers project inquiries from staff, vendors or clients, and communicates financial information to project managers and other stakeholders\nAssists in preparation of annual service line budget\nMaintains digital project accounting files.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nStrong organizational skills.\nBe able to travel as required.\nAble to meet deadlines.\nAble to work while under pressure.\nJob Requirements\nLegally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions.\nPossess a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.\nHave 2 years or more experience (general ledger accounting, POC accounting, cost accruals, project review/analysis)\nStrong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.\nWhat’s in it for you?\nAt Fugro, our people are our number one priority and central to our purpose to create a safe and livable world.
