Our experts provide actionable insights that reduce risk, optimize site selection, support infrastructure design, and enable safer, more sustainable project outcomes.\nThe Senior Staff Engineer performs geotechnical work around the process of acquiring, analyzing, engineering, and interpreting complete and high-quality geotechnical data to provide accurate and customized services to clients. This individual will provide geotechnical advice in one or a small number of specialized technical disciplines and develop solutions for clients by putting acquired geotechnical data into context.\nJob Responsibilities:\nLead by example and place Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and the protection of the Environment as core values while never intentionally placing employees, our processes, customers, or the communities in which we live and work at risk.\n\nAssist in the completion of projects and other operational tasks.\n\nLogging of soil borings and test pits.\n\nCoordinate soil exploration programs.\n\nAssist in the planning and scheduling of projects.\n\nCoordinate the execution of small projects or part of a project of moderate complexity.\n\nAssist in the preparation of cost estimates and proposals.\n\nAssist in the preparation of engineering reports.\n\nUse prescribed methods to perform engineering analysis.\n\nExecute work duties in an organized and efficient manner.\n\nMaintain close relationships with clients throughout the project and beyond.\n\nJob Requirements:\nLegally Authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions.\n\nMaster of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university is required, a Ph.D. is preferred.\n\nMinimum of 1 year of experience in the field of geotechnical engineering, including experience with acquiring, interpreting, and analyzing geodata and performing engineering calculations.\n\nLicensed Professional Engineer in the state of Louisiana is preferred.\n\nAbility to write reports and business correspondence. Present information and ideas and respond to questions clearly and concisely.\n\nUnderstand advanced technical requirements and current data acquisition procedures.\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\n\nAdvanced knowledge of computer operations, including Microsoft Office and other engineering programs.\n\nPossess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record.\n\nPossess or be able to obtain a valid passport, possible international travel/assignments may be required.\n\nTravel is required up to 25% for this job opportunity.\n\nWhat’s in it for you?\nAt Fugro, our people are truly our number one priority and are central to our purpose to create a safe and livable world.
