Working as part of a multidisciplinary Marine Consulting team, you will contribute to a diverse range of investigations, combining geological, geophysical and geotechnical data to deliver valuable insights that support safe and sustainable engineering decisions.\nAs a Staff Engineering Geologist, you will gain hands on experience in geological interpretation, geohazard assessment, sedimentological logging and ground model development, while collaborating with specialists across geoscience, geotechnical engineering, GIS and dynamic modelling disciplines. Supported by an experienced team and technical leaders and mentors, this role offers an excellent platform to develop your expertise, build your professional profile and progress towards technical chartership, all within an innovative global organisation at the forefront of geo data and marine consultancy services.\nYour role and responsibilities:\nSupport the Engineering Geology and Geohazards team in delivering high quality technical projects and meeting team objectives.\nUndertake geological desk studies, including geological evolutionary models, soil province mapping and zonation assessments.\nDerive basic geotechnical parameters from geological and geophysical datasets.\nAssist with the integration and interpretation of geological, geophysical and geotechnical data to develop ground models.\nContribute to the production of engineering geological reports and technical deliverables.\nCarry out sedimentological and geohazard core logging to support site investigations and assessments.\nPerform microscopy analysis of sand fractions and prepare petrological descriptions of thin sections.\nSupport the preparation of geohazard assessments and site appraisal reports.\nDevelop geological interpretations, cross sections and digital outputs using industry standard software.\nPrepare reports and technical documentation in line with company and client standards.\nAssist in presenting technical findings and project outcomes to clients and stakeholders.\nConduct self checks and quality control reviews to ensure the accuracy and consistency of technical deliverables.\nMaintain accurate project records and ensure adherence to quality assurance processes.\nWork collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including Geoscience, GIS, Geotechnical Engineering and Dynamic Modelling specialists.\nComply with all Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (QHSSE) requirements.\nSupport the safe operation and compliance of the geohazard core logging facility.\nContinuously develop technical knowledge and work towards achieving professional chartership.\nWhat you’ll need to thrive in this role:\nEssential\nDegree qualified in Geology, Geoscience or a related Earth Science discipline.\nStrong understanding of geological principles and processes.\nAbility to interpret geological, geophysical and geotechnical data.\nKnowledge of marine geology and sedimentary environments.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear technical reports.\nAbility to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to producing high quality work.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.\nCommitment to health, safety, quality and environmental standards.\nFluent in English.\nMotivated to work towards Chartered status through a relevant professional institution.\nDesirable\nPostgraduate qualification in Engineering Geology, Geohazards, Geoscience or a related discipline.\nUp to 3 years' experience within Engineering Geology, Geohazards or a related geoscience field.\nExperience undertaking geological desk studies, geological modelling or ground model development.\nKnowledge of marine site investigations and geohazard assessments.\nExperience of sedimentological logging, core logging or geological sample description.\nFamiliarity with the integration of geological, geophysical and geotechnical datasets.\nExperience using industry standard software such as ArcGIS, IHS Kingdom, Leapfrog or similar applications.\nBasic programming or automation skills, particularly Python and/or Excel macros.\nUnderstanding of quality control and technical review processes.\nPrevious experience working within consultancy, offshore, marine or infrastructure projects.\nAbout Us\nWho we are\nDo you want to join our Geo-data revolution?
