This role focuses on integrating automation early in the software development lifecycle to improve coverage, reliability, and speed of delivery.\nThe position combines technical development skills with testing fundamentals and contributes to the continuous evolution of automation frameworks, tools, and practices, including the adoption of modern automation, AI-assisted, and agentic AI technologies across the organization.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. This also includes becoming familiar with and improving internally developed automated tools (e.g. AutoPilot). \nEstimate, prioritize, and plan testing activities, coordinating with stakeholders to align scope, timelines, and delivery.\nEnsure test coverage aligns with product functional requirements, including boundary, edge and negative testing.\nParticipate in requirements analysis to ensure testability, define automation strategy early, and identify gaps before implementation.\nDesign and execute test cases (automated and manual), monitor results, investigate failures, and maintain test stability.\nEnhance automation frameworks for reusability, performance, and reporting; evaluate and adopt modern tools and development environments (e.g., Playwright, Selenium, AI-assisted tools such as Cursor and Microsoft Copilot) to improve test design, coverage, and overall SQA efficiency, and contribute to standardizing best practices.\nIdentify, track, and manage defects; collaborate with development on resolution and ensure automated traceability, reporting and visualization of test results (e.g., failure identification, tracking, and coverage metrics) in an issue tracking systems (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jira).\nCommunicate testing progress and issues to the automation team and management\nThis role requires full-time on-site presence\nOther Duties and Responsibilities:\nSupports and contributes to continual improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to optimize development processes and adopt new technologies. Makes recommendations to reduce costs. \nParticipates in requirements and story reviews by analyzing functional and technical specifications, identifying gaps or ambiguities, and providing feedback on testability and quality risks. Facilitates test plan review meetings with SW Developers when required.\nResearches software issues related to quality.\nAdheres to company policies, safety, and quality.\nAdditional responsibilities as assigned. Other, reasonable, and related duties may be assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES\nThis job has no supervisory responsibilities.\nQUALIFICATIONS \nRequired Technical Skills:\nAdvanced experience working in DevOps, Agile, or hybrid delivery environments.\nAdvanced knowledge of software testing practices, including functional, compatibility, usability, reliability, exploratory, and performance (load/stress) testing.\nAdvanced experience with work management, test planning, and traceability tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Azure Test Plan, Jira or similar).\nAdvanced experience developing and executing automated and manual tests across application and web environments on Windows and Linux platforms. Testing experience on mobile applications (Android/IOS) is an asset. \nAdvanced experience with modern test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Playwright, Selenium, Appium, Cucumber or equivalent).\nAdvanced proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language used for automation (e.g. Python (primarily), JavaScript, C# or similar).\nAdvanced understanding of system environments, including network topology and basic configuration.\nAdvanced knowledge of Windows environments and standard productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project).\nIntermediate experience with integrating automated testing into build and release workflows, including automated reporting and traceability in platforms such as Azure DevOps.\nIntermediate knowledge of retail (POS/Self-Checkout) systems is a definite asset. \nRequired Soft Skills:\nAdvanced troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.\nAdvanced communication and leadership skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization, from senior management to staff level.\nAdvanced organizational skills\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively.\nAbility to perform reliably in time-sensitive situations.\nAdvanced verbal and written communication skills in both French and English.\nStrong critical thinking and problem-solving skills for troubleshooting complex issues. \nAbility to analyze detail and perform structured decision-making on a daily basis.\nAbility to develop solutions to a variety of problems of moderate to large scope and complexity using company or departmental policies as guidelines.\nDetail-oriented with a strong focus on delivering high-quality results. \nAbility to produce quality work within deadlines with little or no supervision.\nEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE \nMinimum bachelor’s degree in quality assurance, Comp. Science, Engineering or other related technical fields. An equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered.\n2-4 years of experience in software quality test automation, though entry-level candidates with strong foundational skills may also be considered.\nCERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS\nISTQB certification is not mandatory, but a definite asset.\nCOMPUTER SKILLS \nDemonstrate ability to effectively use computers and applicable computer software.
