The role involves working closely with captains and ship crew to ensure reliable onboard IT connectivity and system availability.\nWhy Consider This Opportunity?\n- Build specialised expertise in vessel IT, maritime communications, and cybersecurity.\n- Support a global fleet and solve varied, business-critical technical challenges.\n- Gain exposure beyond conventional office-based or cloud-only IT support.\n- Work with multicultural teams across international shipping operations.\n- Develop your career within a stable and globally established maritime organisation.\nKey Responsibilities:\n- Provide remote L2 and L3 technical support to vessels, captains, and ship crew.\n- Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, network, and communication-system issues remotely.\n- Manage, support, maintain, and upgrade onboard IT infrastructure across the vessel fleet.\n- Support vessel networks, servers, workstations, Wi-Fi infrastructure, firewalls, switches, UPS, storage, and backup systems.\n- Install, configure, and optimise Microsoft environments, including Windows Server, Windows 10, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and Hyper-V.\n- Monitor system performance, connectivity, availability, and reliability across onboard environments.\n- Perform remote system, security, and network updates or upgrades.\n- Maintain cybersecurity controls, antivirus protection, system backups, and disaster-recovery solutions.\n- Liaise with captains, ship crew, vendors, and other IT teams to coordinate troubleshooting and issue resolution.\n- Participate in improvements to vessel IT infrastructure, communication systems, and operational processes.\n- Provide after-hours and weekend support as part of an on-call rotation to support vessels operating around the clock.\n- Board vessels occasionally for IT audits or ad-hoc technical work when required.\nKey Requirements:\n- Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.\n- Minimum 2 years of relevant IT infrastructure, technical support, or systems-engineering experience within the maritime industry.\n- Vessel IT or maritime technology support experience will be highly regarded.\n- Hands-on experience in onsite infrastructure support, rather than primarily cloud-based Microsoft 365 support.\n- Strong troubleshooting capabilities across servers, networks, hardware, connectivity, and end-user systems.\n- Experience handling L2 escalations;
