The engineer applies technical knowledge to define strategic direction within the discipline and to solve complex business problems through a systematic, disciplined approach, using software, hardware, and communication technologies. \nKey environment: JDE application version 8.12 on a DB2 database running on an IBM i (AS/400) system.Good to have- The candidate must be able to query the DB2 database on the AS/400 to research and resolve issues. \nDiscipline-specific duties: \nApply engineering principles to the design, development, and testing of JD Edwards Human Capital Management. \n\nBuild solutions using JDE technologies such as RDA, FDA, TDA, NER, BSFN, OMW, ER Compare, Visual Studio, and data dictionary tools. \n\nDesign, support, configure, and maintain JDE application settings, processing options, data structures, data dictionary, user overrides, data sources, and application database middleware.\n\nRequirements\n\nDesign, develop, and implement computer systems and software applications. \n\nPlan, design, and implement complex functional and technical application/system-level designs. \n\nDefine interdependencies with other disciplines; participate in testing and certification. \n\nSupport, operate, and maintain computer systems and software applications. \n\nApply methods and procedures per SDLC and IT industry standards/best practices. \n\nStay current with industry trends to prototype and recommend technical approaches. \n\nTravel as necessary to perform job duties. \n\nPerform other job-related duties as assigned. \n\nRequirements\nJDE E1 8.12 HCM/HR functional and technical knowledge. \n\nBachelor's degree in a relevant specialty (may be required). \n\n5+ years of experience in the field or a related area. \n\nStrong knowledge within the specific area of responsibility. \n\nKnowledge and skills: \nSubject matter expertise in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline. \n\nAbility to formulate, communicate, and implement technical solutions. \n\nProven ability to collaborate with technical peers. \n\nCapable of working independently with minimal supervision; may lead or direct the work of others. \n\nCreativity with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. \n\nStrong command of methodologies, tools, best practices, and processes. \n\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills. \n\nGood to have:\n\nAbility to code RPG/400, CL/400, and SQL/400 on an IBM i (AS/400) system. \n\nAbility to query a DB2 database on the AS/400 (IBM i) system.\n\nBenefits\n\nBenefits\nAs per company policy / standard employee benefits.\n\nAdditional Remarks\nCritical/niche skill: JDE HCM combined with native AS/400 (IBM i) development (RPG/400, CL/400, SQL/400) and DB2 query capability.
