This position is responsible for setting up and operating CNC and manual machine tools, producing precision components, performing inspections, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.\nThis position description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees in this role. Duties, responsibilities, and qualifications may be adjusted as business needs evolve.\nWhat You'll Do\nMachining Operations\nSet up and operate CNC and manual machine tools, including mills and lathes, to manufacture precision components.\nRun existing CNC programs and make minor program edits, offsets, and tool adjustments as required.\nSelect appropriate tooling and cutting parameters with guidance from senior machinists and leadership.\nLoad, secure, and align workpieces to ensure accurate machining results.\nMonitor machine performance and verify production requirements are met.\nBlueprint Reading & Setup\nRead and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, work instructions, and GD&T specifications.\nReview job requirements and determine proper setup methods.\nVerify tooling, fixturing, and material requirements before production begins.\nDocument setup procedures and machining processes to support repeatability and consistency.\nInspection & Quality Control\nInspect machined components using precision measuring equipment.\nVerify dimensions, tolerances, and surface finishes meet engineering requirements.\nIdentify and communicate quality concerns promptly.\nMaintain accurate inspection and production records as required.\nTroubleshooting & Continuous Improvement\nAssist in troubleshooting setup, tooling, program, and machining issues.\nCollaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to improve efficiency and quality.\nSupport process improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing efforts.\nContribute ideas that improve safety, productivity, and operational performance.\nSafety & Workplace Organization\nFollow all company safety policies and procedures.\nMaintain a clean, organized, and professional work area.\nParticipate in safety meetings and training programs.\nProperly use all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).\nAssist other departments as needed and perform other duties as assigned.\nWhat We're Looking For\nRequired Qualifications\n3 to 7 years of precision machining experience, including CNC and/or manual machine operation.\nWorking knowledge of CNC machining principles.\nAbility to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications.\nExperience operating CNC mills, lathes, or similar machining equipment.\nFamiliarity with tooling selection, cutting parameters, and standard fixturing techniques.\nProficiency using precision measuring equipment, including:\nMicrometers\nCalipers\nDial indicators\nHeight gauges\n\nStrong mathematical and mechanical aptitude.\nExcellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.\nStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience editing basic CNC programs and offsets.\nExperience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or job shop environment.\nTechnical certificate or Associate's Degree in Machining, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field.\nExperience with continuous improvement or lean manufacturing practices.\nWork Environment\nIndoor manufacturing and machining environment.\nFast-paced production setting with changing priorities and production schedules.\nFrequent standing, bending, stooping, reaching, and material handling throughout the workday.\nRegular exposure to machining equipment, cutting tools, and metalworking operations.\nPersonal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required on the shop floor and provided by the company.\nRequired PPE\nSafety glasses\nHearing protection\nSafety footwear with metatarsal protection\nGloves (as required by task)\nWhy Fulcrum?\nAt Fulcrum Technologies, you'll be part of a team that values craftsmanship, innovation, quality, and continuous improvement.
