After a year of development, it is live in production with active customers onboarding, and it now needs to grow into an enterprise-grade, high-throughput platform.\nThis is not a greenfield role, and it is not a maintenance role. It is a scale-up role: take a young production platform and harden it into a system that enterprises trust with their operations. You will own the architecture as it evolves under real load, with real customers, while the platform keeps shipping.\nMust Have:\n10+ years building and operating cloud-native backend or platform systems\nOwned the scaling of a production SaaS or data platform through rapid customer growth: hardening, re-architecture under load, and maturing an early product to enterprise grade\nDeep hands-on experience with high-throughput distributed systems: event streaming or message queues, async processing, idempotency, retries, backpressure\nStrong performance engineering: profiling, load testing, horizontal scaling, capacity planning\nProduction reliability ownership: observability, SLOs, incident management, fault-tolerant design\nMulti-tenant SaaS experience, including tenant isolation and noisy-neighbor problems\nProficiency in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript (Next.js)\nHands-on daily coder with founder-level ownership; comfortable in low-process, high-ambiguity environments\nNice to Have:\nBuilt or scaled an integration platform, ETL/data pipeline product, or API platform (connectors, transformation pipelines, webhooks)\nKafka or similar streaming infrastructure at scale\nSupply chain or logistics systems exposure (WMS, OMS, TMS, EDI integrations)\nAI-assisted engineering workflows; AI is deeply embedded in how we build\nExperience shipping AI/LLM-driven capabilities in production (rag, generation pipeline, agentic workflows)\nKey Responsibilities:\nOwn technical direction and architecture evolution of a live, revenue-generating platform\nScale throughput and reliability while customers onboard, including zero-downtime changes to running systems\nHarden the platform: tenant isolation, rate limiting, security, data integrity\nEstablish observability, SLOs, and incident practices as the customer base grows\nLead performance and capacity work ahead of demand, not behind it\nRaise engineering standards through design reviews and mentorship\nPartner with Product to balance platform investment against feature delivery\nIdentify and retire scaling risks and technical debt before they compound\nWhat Success Looks Like in the First 90 Days:\n30: Deep command of the codebase and production topology; shipping to production; documented view of the top scaling and reliability risks\n60: First major scaling or reliability improvements live; observability and SLO baseline established\n90: Enterprise-readiness roadmap owned and in motion; measurable gains in throughput, latency, or stability\nKey Performance Indicators (KPIs):\nPlatform uptime and reliability\nThroughput and latency under growing customer load\nCustomer and integration onboarding velocity\nIncident frequency and time to recovery\nEnterprise scalability readiness\nWhy You’ll Love Working Here:\nAt Fulfillment IQ, we don’t just build supply chain solutions.
