In this role, you’ll lead your crew day to day, coordinate plant, labour and subcontractors, and make sure work is delivered safely, on time and to a high standard.\nThis is a hands-on leadership role for someone who knows asphalt, backs their team, and knows how to keep jobs moving. At Fulton Hogan, titles matter less than ideas, and you’ll be trusted to make good calls, and create a safe, productive site for everyone.\nNgā tino kawenga mahi | Key role responsibilities\nLead the asphalt crew to deliver work safely, efficiently, on schedule and to quality standards, contributing across the team where needed.\nManage relationships, and coordinate site operations, including labour, plant, materials, subcontractors and suppliers.\nRun pre-starts, identify hazards, manage risks and ensure safety, environmental and quality processes are followed.\nComplete required documentation such as timesheets, daily job sheets, pre-start inspections, plant usage sheets and quality checklists.\nKei te kimi mātou i tētahi e whai ana i ēnei pūkenga | We’re looking for someone with\nMinimum 5 years construction experience ideally in asphalt and paving.\nCurrent class 2 licence, and class 4, W, T, R endorsement ideal (we can assist).\nAt least 2 years’ experience leading and supervising crews and coordinating jobs, plant, and sub-contractors.\nAbility to interpret and deliver against plans, undertake quality checks, oversee time and attendance, use various technology.\nStrong verbal and written communication for handover between shifts, and working with Engineer and Supervisor\nA practical, safety-first approach with strong communication skills, good judgement, and a genuine team focus.\nAbility and willingness to lead stakeholder and client relationships, ensuring trust and confidence in FH and your crew.\nFlexibility to work across roles, support capability uplift of your team and lead by example.\nHe pai te mahi, he pai ngā painga | Good work, good benefits\nAt Fulton Hogan, we genuinely care about the wellbeing of our people and giving them the tools and opportunities they need to succeed and grow with us.
