Working closely with the Department Manager, project teams, subcontractors, and clients, you'll help ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with specifications.\nThis is a hands-on role that combines technical engineering expertise with practical project delivery. You'll spend time both on site and in the office, coordinating resources, managing documentation, monitoring progress, and providing engineering solutions that support successful project outcomes.\nNgā kawenga matua | Key responsibilities\nLead and coordinate day-to-day engineering activities on civil construction projects.\n\nSupport the planning, delivery, and completion of projects in line with programme, budget, and quality objectives.\n\nProvide engineering support and technical guidance to site teams.\n\nCoordinate subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and project resources to ensure work progresses efficiently.\n\nPrepare, review, and manage project documentation, including quality records, methodologies, work plans, programmes, and reporting requirements.\n\nAssist with procurement, cost tracking, forecasting, and project financial management.\n\nMonitor project progress and identify risks, opportunities, and solutions to support successful outcomes.\n\nEnsure compliance with contract specifications, engineering standards, and relevant legislation.\n\nMaintain strong working relationships with clients, stakeholders, subcontractors, and project teams.\n\nPromote and champion health, safety, environmental, and quality standards across all project activities.\n\nProvide regular project updates and engineering support to the Department Manager.\n\nKei te kimi mātou i tētahi e whai ana i ēnei pūkenga | We’re looking for someone with\nA tertiary qualification in Engineering, preferably a Bachelor of Civil Engineering or equivalent.\n\nA minimum of 5 years' experience within civil construction, infrastructure, or contracting environments.\n\nDemonstrated experience supporting the delivery of civil infrastructure projects.\n\nStrong understanding of construction methodologies, project delivery processes, and project management principles.\n\nExperience with programming, cost control, quality assurance, and project documentation.\n\nStrong technical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide practical engineering solutions.\n\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills.\n\nA proactive approach with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.\n\nStrong organisational skills and attention to detail.\n\nA safety-first mindset and commitment to Fulton Hogan's values.\n\nA full Class 1 Driver Licence.\n\nHe pai te mahi, he pai ngā painga | Good work, good benefits\nAt Fulton Hogan, we genuinely care about the wellbeing of our people and giving them the tools and opportunities they need to succeed and grow with us.
