We don’t stand still - there are always opportunities to do more and do better.\nWhat’s on offer?\nWe currently have a full-time vacancy for a materials tester to join the team at Fulton Hogan based at Tynong Quarry. This position will suit either entry level or experienced candidates looking to take the next step in their career.\nThe successful candidate will be responsible for the testing of aggregates to Australian standard methods in our NATA Laboratory. Reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor your responsibilities will include;\nSampling and testing of aggregates.\nThe hands-on, day-to-day management of sampling and testing in accordance with specified requirements.\nThe handling and management of chemicals in line with relevant standards\nManagement of reporting, record keeping and calibrations including reporting non-conforming product.\nConduct procedures safely and maintain good housekeeping of laboratory and surrounds.\nProviding technical support to production departments.\nMaintain the laboratory in accordance with NATA requirements.\nSome travel will be required, based on the needs of the business.\nTo be successful in this position you will require the following skills/experience:\nAttention to detail and the ability to work under pressure and achieve strict deadlines.\nProfessional communication, written and interpersonal skills\nHonest, confident and reliable\nCommitment to workplace safety, quality, punctuality, reliability, respect for others and to work as part of an efficient team\nCurrent and valid Driver’s Licence\nCertificate IV in Laboratory Techniques (is advantageous)\nPrevious experience in heavy industries or an interest in this field of work\nIdeally you will have an understanding of the quarry industry. Having a demonstrated knowledge of Australian standards for laboratories would be viewed favourably but not essential as full training will be provided.\nYou will be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
